They're Here! You guys asked for 'em!

Maximum Advantage Grip Wide Grip Bars

You all loved the original bars, but some people also wanted a wide bar. MAG blew this out of the water. It came out beautifully and for a reasonable price. I honestly can't believe that they kept the cost down so well. You have to understand that the cost of raw materials is through the roof. Steel is not cheap, and on top of that each bar has a high quality durable material on each bar that truly takes your grip out of the equation. Like I've said before you have to try these bars to believe it. Total lat activation! Here is the link to order:

Do you know how long it is? Also the length of the medium?

The wide are 38" and the medium are about shoulder width. I really like the medium because they put your arms in, what I feel, is a natural alignment. For instance if you raised your arms straight up like if the police told you you were under arrest then that would be where the medium grip would be. I don't have the exact demotions, but check out some of the videos and you might get a better idea. When I get a chance I'll talk with the owner to get the exact numbers or you could email him on the site. I think if I was going to get one of each I'd get a wide grip prone, a medium supinate, and a close grip neutral. Fortunately, I don't need to make the choice.

Here is the link to send an email to them:
http://maxagrip.com/contact.html

If you don't get a response by the end of the day Monday post here or IM me and I'll make sure you get an answer.

Gotcha, If you get one let us know what you think here. I really have been in love with the bars and haven't used anything else for lat pulldowns. On my light day I do this:

Lat Pulldowns Med Prone 1x15 rest 20 seconds (stretch)
Med Reverse Grip 1x15 rest 20 seconds (pose/flex)
Med Neutral Grip 1x15 rest 20 seconds (stretch)
Cable Rows Close Prone 1x15 rest 20 seconds (pose/flex)
Close Reverse Grip 1x15 rest 20 seconds (stretch)
Close Neutral Grip 1x15 rest 20 seconds (pose/flex)

With the wide grip in my final 6 weeks of prep I think I'll be doing this:

Light Day Giant set
Pulldowns
1A Wide Grip Prone 2-3x10-15
1B Med Grip Reverse 2-3x10-15
1C Close Grip Neutral 2-3x10-15

Rows

2A Wide Grip Prone 2-3x10-15
2B Med Grip Reverse 2-3x10-15
2C Close Grip Neutral 2-3x10-15

Ya know this ain't rt... My gym bag already weighs too much. I keep wanting shit to add....if I hurt my back again the docs gonna ask if I hurt it working out and I'm gonna have to explain that "no...see I was getting my bag out of the car....". I have my power lifting belt, dip belt, wraps and straps, isolator, now I want to add 2 of these.... I still want to get the hammer machine plate extenders, etc... The good part is it will same me on my membership cause I van just drive to the gym, park across the lot, carry my bag to the door in one hand...rest pause....carry it back in the other....work out done!!

For real though... I can't wait to move. The bride to be and I will be getting a home with a 2+ car garage or a work shop I can turn into a gym. I even have some equipment in storage already so when I do move... I will prob have their full line.

MAG had trouble logging in so they asked me to answer the question on measurements. The wide is 36" from middle finger to middle finger. The medium is 20" and the close is 5". Hope that helps anyone wondering.

Posing my back. I really do credit this bars for my development this year. I feel like my back will be a stand out feature.

Wide Grip MAG BAR

We were doing these in a fashion John Meadows advocates. We did a heavy partial range of motion accentuating the stretch on each rep. Even better with these new wide bars.

Basically we went really heavy, bring the bar to the top of our forehead, return it under control and feel the stretch. Like I said this hits it in a very unique way compared to regular pulldown bars. You have to try them to believe it. Skip and I love these things.
