    Fish... Anyone eat it?

    Hey guys, i'm hoping to include some different kinds of foods into my diet. Mostly looking at fish. I use to eat tuna but the taste pissed me off and i cut it out and ate beef instead.

    Now my dads on my back about switching things up a little bit.
    So fish is gonna have to be the deal.

    What im wondering is if you get fresh fish and cook it, how much does it shrink? And whats the best kinda fish to get. Highest protein an all.

    The whole fish shrinking thing is the main problem. I dont wanna cook like 1lb and then be left with 1/2lb to eat :angry:

    I don't like fish at all, period and I basically don't eat it.

    However, I do cook a fair amount and others like it so I make it sometimes.

    I think part of the shrinkage your talking about is simply the proteins in the fish tightening up and contracting together as the fish is cooked. Even cook a flank or skirt steak? Some thing happening.

    I would avoid overcooking fish to preserve the moisture and delicate flavor if I were you.

    The only way I think you really be losing much weight in the cooking process is if you took a relatively oily fish like salmon and really overcooked it.

        I eat a lot of salmon as well. jay cutler eats a lot of orange ruffy. I also like sword fish and haddick. Calorieking.com should give you the break down of fish

              Big time fish eater here, perhaps its from spending several summers on the east coast, in nova scotia and having part of my family from newfoundland.

              But for different types of fish that are quick and cheap I generally but the blocks of fish by highliner at the store.

              There 400g blocks, and each block carries about 80 grams of protein.

              they sell for 3.99 candian.

              And you can get them in Sole, Alaskin Pollick, Boston Bluefish (my fav) Cod fish, Ocean Pearch and Salmon.

                    I'm not a huge fish eater but...tuna steak, tilapia, orange roughy, cod, sole, flouder, and salmon.

                      I eat salmon and some tuna too. Salmon mostly for the EFAs and extra calories.

                          I like slamon and salmon steaks. Here in the midwest we have a ton of catfish and I could eat that all day/everyday! I can't stomach plain tuna anymore. i have to buy the flavored tuna, herb and garlic in the pouches..mmmm!

                            Mmmm fish. I love the slimy stuff. Cod, salmon, sardines,etc. but it's mostly cause of my culture as I was brought up on this stuff. Anyways, no one has yet to bring up clams, shrimp of even sea snails. In-Human can we get some nutrition facts on this stuff(no calculator allowed)
