Since these stretches are geared towards mass, is there a reason why some of them utilize weights (back, chest, tri's) and others seem more geared towards flexibility due to a lack of weight? I have been doing the hamstring stretch for years to improve my flexibility as an example. thanks
the quad stretch is every bit as painful as any of the weighted stretches. i dont think any of them are geared towards flexibility over mass. some of these require weight to achieve the desired effect, and some of them have no convienent way to add weight. its as simple as that. also if you think about it, in the biceps, shoulder, quad stretch your body is supplying the load or weight. for most of us that is going to be around 200 +pounds, which is more than most are doing in the chest or tricep stretch. just because you dont hold a barbell or a DB doesnt mean the stretch isnt weighted.

Great job explaining it! Thanks. Didn't factor in the body weight aspect. I guess the one that really stood out to me was the hamstring one when you elevate a leg. As I said I have been doing that for years, but it depends how much you try to push it down to really factor in the "weighted" aspect.

Hi, I'm new to these forums and to the DC system, I've been reading up for the last few days and intend to start applying what I have learned in the weight room tomorrow. I know a few stretches like chest and tricep because of a friend who tipped me onto this forum. I was looking through this thread and noticed that none of the posted stretch pics display. Does anyone know a way I could view them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Checked all of the posts and could only find a few stretches on page 9. Where can I find pics of all the stretches for better understanding?

There was no picture of the forearm stretch. I could get a camera and take that one picture of it though. But if you view random thoughts of dante he has it in clear writing even my teenage ass could understand.

Dave the weight you use isn't set in stone. For me I am not that strong upper body, so I use 65s for chest stretch an 50s for tricep stretch. But for hanging lat stretch I have a 45 attached to my waist + my 210lb ass and hold for 90+ seconds lol... But for the chest/shoulder/tricep just 60 seconds for me its to damn painful any longer.

What Are The Extreme Stretches? I've Be Reading About This Training Style Here At The Site. But Are The Certian Stretches Used After a muscle group is trianed or when training is completed for all groups that day? The reason I ask is I did read that it is to be done when your training is done. But I also read some did it after they finished training a certain muscle. And then again when they finished there workout. I was wonder what would be better?
