Some questions re recent batch of protein

Hello,

I recently ordered a small (2 lbs) batch of protein just to get some feel for trueproteins. I don't like to dive in without testing the waters I know I should have tried everything I'm interested in trying, seperately, so I could identify specific tastes I like and dislike, but I figured I'd taste and post to ask.

I would love to be able to order a "sampler" that came with a bunch of baggies each with a few scoops of each different protein, and a label on each, but of course, that would be a pain in the butt for TP to have to deal with...

1. I like the powders and am amazed how nicely they dissolve and generally how tasteless they are, except that something in the mix has a slight taste and smell of fish.

If I had to guess, the only thing in the mix that I've never had before is the MCT powder. Perhaps this is the source of the fish taste? Well, I guess i've never had powdered flax - I've had ground flax until now.

Whey Protein Isolate Microfiltration
Hydolyzed Whey Protein High Grade
Micellar Casein
Egg White Protein
Soy Protein Isolate
Flax Powder
MCT Powder
Creatine Monohydrate
Glutamine Peptides
Complete Vitamin
Flavoring: None (plain)
Sweetner: None (plain)

2. The fats are both listed on the website as having 10 grams of fat, 7.5 grams of carb per serving. I think that should equal 90+30=120 calories. However, they're listed as 200 calories. What's missing?

3. The vitamin powder - I found no information on what's contained in this poweder. How much of what does it add per scoop?

I must say, TP is the answer to my protein wishes. I try hard to stay away from artificial sweeteners, but it's almost impossible these days to find good, inexpensive protein (or heck, even bars or other stuff) that doesn't have sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, etc. mixed in.

Thanks for any replies! I'd like to order up a couple batches with each a couple ingredients only, but I want to figure out which is the fishy offender first

the flax and mct are pretty much tasteless, so i don't think it is that. i would guess that it is from the glutamine peptides (hydrolyzed wheat gluten) or the hydrolyzed whey. i have found any protein that is hydrolyzed to have strange tastes associated with it. the normal being that it is bitter, but when mixed with other proteins/supplements other flavors can come about. my guess as it would be one of these 2, probably the glut peps though. personally for myself i used to be able to use glut peps, but lately the taste makes me cringe.

i just looked on our site, they are listed as 120 calories. i am not sure why the are coming up as 200. that is weird let me look into it.

the vit/min additive, is not a substitute for a good all around vit/mineral (pill). the vit/min mix creates a more "food like" environment for your protein/mrp/etc.

thanks,

Thanks!

I'll try some mixes without those two to see how things taste.
