Good thread, I dropped dairy a while back but I'm considering dropping eggs for a couple weeks as well just to see if it makes a difference.

Also, almond milk, unsweetened, natural or vanilla flavor is really good stuff if you really miss milk. Its like 3 bucks a quart though, so its treat more than anything.

why eggs? they are the perfect food.

and yes almond milk kicks ass.

one question, is the problem with dairy the lactose? it seems that whey and casein are ok?

Why eggs?

I've been eatin tons of them for a very long time. At least 5-6 days out of the week. Lately my stomach has just felt kind of funny after so I'd like to take a few weeks off see if I see any difference. Who knows? Cuz I like to experiment.

They are no more perfect than some extra chicken+EVOO

Ok, good read.

Some thoughts...

Do you guys feel increasing the consumption of milk, slowly over time (for those not lactose intolerant) could act similarly to that of ultra high protein diets (2g plus daily), in regards that the body would adapt to it, and the problems of dissention and bloating could subside?

And what about using skim milk with the aid of a few drops of a lactose enzyme? It seems that it may be a good idea to have at least one small glass of milk daily for your body to be able to maintain its ability to digest small amounts of dairy, so you CAN still eat the occasional pizza, cheese, etc, at parties and what not. Would that be a bad inference?

Can we discuss other dairy products. I dont drink milk and when I do have the rare slice of pizza or ice cream I pay for it. OF course when I have it I dont just have a little bit.

But what about cottage cheese and whey? I consume them almost for about for about 15% fo the meals I have for the week. I have taken out cottage cheese for short periods like a month but post workout whey is a staple. Anyone experience benefits taking them out of the mix?

Holy hell. I am cutting milk as soon as the semester is over here in a couple weeks. I think it is a big contributor to my bloated belly... I am not bloated like that anywhere else... It is just a part of my diet here at school, 3 glasses skim and a cup of cottage cheese... I have no other real protein sources in the cafeteria...
