Does this mean I shouldn't have been drinking milk for all my carbs on my contest diet?

It is kind of funny but I felt really bad for getting on him when it really wasn't as much his fault as I had originally though. That is one of those times when as a parent you wish you could have that time back to change your reaction.

I like the ultra low fat cheese we have here in OZ. 35g of protein/100g and only 3.5g of fat and 0 carbs. I grate it on everything. And nothing makes brown rice more yummy than fat-free cream cheese. 15g prot. /100g and 4 grams of fat. Not to mention low fat cottage cheese. Im stickin up for good ol cheese. I agree that lactose in the milk makes it harder to get cut though but cheese doesnt have it in it. Just gotta be careful which ones you get.

Yeah its sorta an old thread, but a good one. I tried milk this last week just to see how I could handle it in the off-season, and got bloated all to hell. Kinda messed up my eating habits for a little bit. But never know until you try it lol

A little old thread, but i'd thought i would throw in some experience regarding dairy products from a hardcore milk drinker...

I have been drinking about 4-5 liters of milk (1.18gallons) in about a year, every day.. The first periods were kinda bad, lots of farting and lots of trips to the loo to take a shit, but after a while it started to settle down.. I don't have a gutted stomach and i don't have ANY problems of ANY sort regarding milk.
I do not digest lots of dairy products besides of milk though...

I will maybe try to cut the milk intake to try it out, but then maybe "on-season" next year. I actually don't know how i would be if i did it, since i have drinked milk since i was a little kid, every day, but not so much as i do now... I doesn't look like i have a gutted stomach, looks quite normal...

For me to drop out on my precious milk would be a little disaster for me, since i like the taste of milk (skimmed of course), and it's a easy protein and carb source of high quality... And it would be a pain in the ass to get all those proteins and all that carbs from meat and rice etc in my working position...

i drink a lot of milk coz its cheap and relatively good quality stuff (untill i read about the blood and feces finding its way into some of it...yuk) and my budget is stretched as it is. if i decided to compete i would prob drop it though from the suggestions about it on this thread, cheers JT1

Are these guys fucking kidding?

LOL @ heckman and D. : )

I liked the one where he says that he doesn't want to drop milk because he likes the taste of it and the high quality protein and carbs. *shrug* Okay. To each their own but.... society is FAT because they "like the taste" of things like twinkies, burgers, fries, etc.. Come on, now.

I pointed out that if you drop milk you can see for yourself how much milk screws up digestion but yet you don't want to even consider dropping it to see how you respond?

Someone please smack me. I don't get it, I guess.

I'm lactose intolerant so dairy is not a big deal for me. It was back in 99 when i became lactose intolerant. I loved dairy. But now the only dairy I really consume is Lactaid milk which is lactose free. Not to mention I only use it with my protien shake or an ocassional bowl of smart start cereal.

I wouldnt doubt that dropping milk may offer certain advantages, but the fact that skim milk is such an affordable and rather tasty source of not only protein but calories, at least with my limited budget, I believe would not be worth the advatanges.... at least offseason.

But to each their own.

Dude, do you have any clue as to how much milk you'd have to drink to get enough protein? You would never stop pooping. Get some True Protein.

reading over this thread for the first time in months got me thinking

I used to drink TONS of milk growing up. in high school I drank damn near a gallon of skim everyday to help me put on weight

I was always congested growing up and I became known throughout my highschool and college days as the muscular ripped kid with the HUGE belly.

this past year I cut out all dairy from my diet just because I got sick of it...I'd rather have a delicious chocolate protein shake or eat some oats then drink milk for calories, despite it's own tastiness

I am much more muscular this year than a year or two ago but my waist is actually about 2" smaller than the last time I was in contest prep

I've been doing less cardio and eating more all year and the main thing i changed was nixing the dairy

I also dont have near as many nasal issues anymore save an oddball allergy or two
