Be careful saying that around these parts. Guys think that if they get a little soy protein that they will sporting double Ds not soon after. lol

I don't have too much of a problem drinking skim milk (no fat), but now I'm curious if I could reduce my waist size by removing milk all together. I may have to try this for a month or two.

My main problem will be to fill that gap left by the milk. That's a lot of protein and calories I'm going to have to make up. I'll figure it out.

I think I'm going to try cutting milk out for a month or too also. I don't have any problems with milk but I'd like to see what effect cutting it out has.

It's just kind of funny and weird when you think about it.

Used to drink loads of milk when making the transition from 150 lb guy to 240 lb guy but havent consumed dairy foods precontest or offseason for years now, have all my shakes in water and have never liked cheese much unless it is on a big-ass pizza .

The only time I consume dairy is as part of a programmed "cheat" meal (I think someone calls this shitloading ) and then I will indulge in shakes, pizza etc. Bloats the hell out of me but is heaven to my tastebuds and bloating subsides in 24 hrs.

Skip, i read this post a little while back while waiting for injuries to heal, and since i was too worried to drop my easy milk protein and calories, i would try it when i wasnt worried about it. i dropped all dairy and it has been a huge difference. i used to wake up with my nose completely clogged and it would get that way several times a day. Also now when i eat i feel a fullness but not severely bloated. that also aides me in getting hungry sooner so i can get more calories down. then all i had to do was find a way to replace the calories cause i knew i could just add a little more powder to replace the protein. then i found your oatmeal packet recipes and it does the trick. it kinda gives the shake a milk like texture and tastes good. i think this comeback will be much more successful without the dairy.

I am glad to hear this, bro. In fact, I have a thread on another board about dairy as well and between the two threads, not ONE person has had a negative thing to say when they stopped their dairy consumption. Every single person has said that it helped and that the results were very obvious.

Good luck on your comeback, my friend. I hope you keep us posted.

i believe it is in the bulking lounge on this site. its pretty simple but tastes good and gets the oatmeal down quick. you just get the box of flavored oatmeal that is separated into packets. they have like apple cinnamon, peaches and cream, and others that taste pretty good. i think his recipe was 3 scoops of protein powder with 3 packets of oatmeal. i scale it down at times with 2 scoops of protein and 2 packets. i only add about 5oz water to the 2 scoop recipe cause i like it a little thick in consistency.

I noticed once I cut out the cottage cheese, cheese, hell anything dairy the bloat went away after a week or so and I didn't feel so damn bloated or gassy. I think my joint pain went down also??? I just take a glass of soy milk if I ever feel the craving for milk. Hell I have always been lactose-intolerant very mild, but I guess quit drinking it for a long period of time then try drinking it again.... Didn't have the same effect.

Cheese, from a bodybuilding standpoint, is useless. It is simply a block of orange saturated fat. The protein is so low that it does nothing for you and calcium can be obtained from a ton of better foods.

Now, for TASTE, it dominates. lol

Reading over this thread I noticed that since I've dropped dairy out of my diet for the most part my waist has dropped down a lot and my abs especially are more defined. Also glad I found this because I was considering doing the whole gallon of milk a day thing.

My kids aren't allowed to drink milk. I know this sounds kind of "nazi-ish" but I am not one of those parents. I do have my kids eat well but certainly not fanatical. Examples are: We have whole grain bread, natural peanut butter, etc, for PBJs. They can't stomach the regular peanut butter because they are used to the natural stuff. They get McDonald's once a week on "McDonald's Day" which has been Wednesdays for YEARS. They eat about half of it and don't want anymore yet they cleaned their plates of liver and onions and homemake pasta/chicken salad last night. However, I digress....

After about 10 months of no milk except what might be needed for cooking or in cheese or something every now and then, my boy thought he would sneak a chocolate milk by not telling his grandpa that he wasn't supposed to drink it. Grandpa being new to being around the kids (we were in Colorado for almost 10 years and back for only a month) didn't know he wasn't supposed to have it. Fast forward about an hour: He is playing X box in the basement and then all of a sudden he is crying in the bathroom so I go in there and shit is .... how do I say ..... EVERYWHERE. It is running out of his jeans, on the floor, his pants are unbuttoned but not even down yet. It gets even better..... sort of.... I start bitching at him thinking that he simply didn't want to get up from playing Xbox and waited too long to get to the bathroom and shit himself - something that some 5 year old boys do when they are addicted to Xbox. Anyway, we get him cleaned up, he takes a shower, I bring in the Hazmat team to spray the bathroom down and a day or two goes by. I can't seem to get this out of my mind and I just happen to ask my dad if he had been complaining about not feeling well or anything and explained to him what had happened. He scowls and thinks for a minute and says: "No... the only thing he had was when we shared a chocolate milk from the gas station on the way to the house". My eyes got so big that I thought they would fall out. I laughed and immediately had to go get my son and apologize for giving him so much grief when in reality it wasn't him being lazy at all. It was nothing more than the milk hit him that quickly. It has done it in the past, as well.

Yeah, I know, long story but I had to prove my point. : )
