dc fullbody
i know this idea may seam weird so before i ask lets go over the basics of dc.
1 set rest pause for each muscle group (accept legs and back thickeness). with the alternate A and B workouts. you hit each muscle with 1 set rest pause every 4 or 5 days. now that we got that. lets just say you cannot go to the gym 3x a week. but training once every 4 and 5 or only every 5 days is possible. if you were to do the 1 set of every exercise (all of A and all of B) in one workout, and then no training until 4/5 days later repeat but with the 2nd exercise out of the 3 you choose and repeat. this way the training stimulus for each muscle is the same as if you trained MON/WED/FRI so now the only differnce is the actual frequency of gym training days. every 4-5 days you do DC with more overall volume but than again you have more days of rest. do you guys think is program will have similar results as the typical monday wed friday split? obviously training 3 times a week is for a reason, but if you cant what do you think of this? |

i would say that you should maybe think about a different program. there is no way that i personally could do heavy deadlifts and then do heavy leg work later in the workout. i don't think that the body would be able to handle this. in addition, this would make your trip to the gym very long.

If it was optimal or could produce the results like his listed split, don't you think DC would have created it that way (or listed it as an option)? You can try what you would like man but IMO you can't harness the intesnity needed by working everything required at the level you should be, which is why it is split up. Dante has reasons for WHY everything is set up, and its pretty simple to follow. Did you ready the stickies? If not I suggest you start there...

you are young enough and should be doing something else...Don't jump into DC and do it half assed....Your scedule will likely change over time and once you get the training under your belt and can put in the time to do it right, then go for it..otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure...

First of all it's hard to understand what you mean exactly. All of workout A and B in one workout? If that's what you mean than I don't reccomend it. So basicly your going to do a total body workout every 5 days? How can you possibly do all the movements effectively. The duration of each workout would be forever. Most likely fry your cns and wouldn't get anywhere.
Second, this is touchy because now your trying to bastardize a well thought out program that has been stream-lined and perfected for optimum results. I know time is your situation but you can't expect the program to be effective if you change it to something completely different. It can be very offensive to the creator who knows way more than you and I and has done years of studying and bustin' ass weightlifting to back it up. You can take the principles, stretching, diet advice, and methods and twist them all up into whatever you want.....just don't claim to be doing DC. There's a reason for everything which is explained in the stickies. When people try to alter DC and fail miserably they like to run around town and on the boards saying they did DC and "it sucks" or "it doesn"t work". When in fact they never did DC, but an aborted version of it. All along Dante gets more frustrated and becomes more jaded towards sharing and teaching to those who want to learn. My advice would be find something else suited for what you can do with your time situation. DC can't be done the way you described. |

Sometimes I have a hard time doing squats in the same WEEK as deads, let alone the same day. I echo these guys' sentiments and say find a different program.

Hundreds of people have gotten massive by bastardizing doggcrapp's techniques so why not fuck his whole program up and do this!

The program is a tried and true system, why mess with proven success. If your schedule doesn't permit you to fit your workouts in the way they are outlined, then I would have to agree with the above to find another system that will fit your schedule.
Anyway I couldn't imagine doing anymore than is outlined if you are putting your all into your workout. I just about have to crawl to my car now. ![]()

Every 5 day marathon session wouldn't be very effective, as you would tax your CNS to a point that recovery would be limited, and you would seriously risk injury during the late stages of the workout.
If you can only workout out every 5 days, you can do a full-body workout, but not a specific lift for each muscle group. Pick several compound movements like squat, dead, clean and press, dips, etc and do 3-4 sets of each every 5 days. Rotate the order of them so that you can prioritise intensity each workout. If I only had 20 minutes a week to lift weights, I would do 2 sets of heavy deadlifts and 3 sets of weighted dips and call it good for the week. The next week I would do squats and clean and press and so on. With the right intensity, this will be plenty of workload to maintain strength (not make stellar gains, but a good maintenance program) |

if you can only train every 4-5 days ..then no DC for YOU ! .
what I would recommend is the go over to www.ironaddicts.com to see what he might have set up for a whole body routine ...if it were me I would do this chest back thighs calves . 3 to 5 sets each ( probably 3) and each work out add 2 sets of either shoulders, tris, or bis...not all of then just one of them do a compound exercise with 1-3 warm ups keep the reps at 8-12 rest at 90 sec to 180 seconds ...( change the rest every 3 weeks) as you rest more make the reps lower...example if resting 180 sec..then reps at 6-8 ..if rest at 60-90 sec..then reps at 12-15 . you see even with limited time on your hands you can change some variables...just don't mix it up every workout or you will never know if you are getting truly stronger good luck |

You can not get big training once every 5 days no matter what program you do. DC has 1 purpose, to make monsters. It is not a fit for your schedule and will not be effective for you.
