Dave trying to keep sane, A boring , selfish cruise log

This Journal is part of a resolution and intends to help me during the time I find the hardest, cruising.
So its only me bubbling along trying to keep myself on track.
In the past I got a good blast going, get into a cruise and all discipline just melts away.
Food consists on any junk. And my body feels like crap. All hurts and bangs that I carried during the blast are felt much stronger. Then after a few days I feel sick. Get a cold or a flu and the 10 days cruise sort of get extended. And I need all self motivation to get back into the blast.
So this is a tool for me to keep sane, and as that will bore the living shit of anyone else.
Cruise started today. I had a box of biscuits with peanut butter and jam after a huge serve of spaghetti bolognaise and decided to keep a cruise log. Sorry.

wait a second....didnt you just say your previous cruises sucked because you would eat like crap and how the whole thing just sorta degenerates but you start out this cruise by eating eating a huge plate of spaghetti and topping it off with a box of crackers and pb/jam????

am i missing something here? C'mon dave i reall all your stuff an i know you are a solid guy who knows this training inside and out but at some point health should come into the equation (esp if your not 23 years old anymore)

I think thats his point, that he had the crap and after eating it decided to do the log to try and stay relatively clean? I sort of see it that way. Maybe I am wrong.

thats right. Thats why I decided to get accountable.

it all started with a fighter type mentality, after the fight you go and eat and drink and all the stuff that in the preparation you could not.

I had a terrific blast. gained big but worked very hard and in a way it is very easy for me to keep focus while am doing that . but after ...well one or two days of spaghetti is ok. just do not want to go over the top...

today is going to be interesting as I am going to spend some time in boxing gyms.
we sponsor some boxers and its time to pick a new one for the next year.
we give them very little , but it helps them and great advertising for us.

maybe I will get some heavy bag work done today. light..but nice.

Rest up during this cruise. Do you have a plan of what you would LIKE your diet to consist of this time?

most of the guys in my industry work hard and live harder. in the meeting there was a guy that used to be Mr Queensland , but all they do is tell me I am crazy for drinking my milk ( they call my shakes - milk)

as long as you do not mind sleeping on the floor. even though there are real champions in the gym , they all are very very basic.

playing with the heavy bag yesterday , as light as I tried to make it just showed me how beat up my body is. everything hurts. I had to explain to some of the boys what is a cruise but all they could think was that I am soft , can not hit hard , and make excuses.
they love to see guys that are bigger than them looks like easy prey.

today was hard. had my morning pancake and rushed to work. one of the site managers was MIA in NSW so I had to drop everything and catch a flight . forgot to take food with me. grabbed a few burgers in airport and dumped the buns in the bin.
on site there was no food all day beside dims sims and chock bars, I was starving so had a bar . sent a guy to get me some protein and he came with a balance bar (one).
rushed to airport , nearly missed my flight and had to eat some airplane food.

got home and had 200 g of washed beef in napoly sauce and wholemeal pita. lots of water and green tea.

next meal will be six eggwhitwes and two full eggs omelet with balsamic vinegar on top.

no cardio today , no discipline. hoped journal will fixed that.

Today we have load of steel work that needed on site early next week.
everyone on the floor is on my back asking to work on the weekend to get overtime.
the guys were extra slow last couple of days planing to squeeze some overtime so there was a bit of yelling to be done.
its winter here and rainy and there is not much to do on the weekend so its squeeze the boss season.
had 7 egg whites and three full eggs for breakfast with cottage cheese and 30 g oats.
at 8 am
two scoops whey plus handful almonds 10.30
two scoops whey and some peanut butter 12.30
helping the guys load the furnace for cardio.

Saturday morning.
special pancake with banana and sultanas.
12.00 shake with peanut butter and then first light workout of the blast.
usually I stay away from the gym for four-five days and then go to play with some new exorcise for the new blast. I find this very exiting as finding a new good exercise is ....a very good thing.
some of the exercise might be things that I have lost before and I am trying to see if they can be Incorporated back.

Hey Dave,

Glad to see you got a journal up, even a cruise one!

Question for you though... have you taken any real time off? Sounds like you've really trained hard last blast and could use some time away. Hope you rest it up some big guy... it'll pay off

good stuff... 5 days is a nice break. I had almost 2 weeks with no lifting and legs got quite deconditioned. Looking forward to your blast journal as well
