Hello from me
New member here, I've just read the bench press and deadlift stickies by Arioch, which are excellent. I'm looking forward to some great chat on here guys
![]() Q: Whilst deadlifting I have found it advantageous to violently exhale before the lift because of a huge pressure I'd feel if I inhaled. However I was interested to see that the advice in the deadlift sticky was to inhale and take the air low down in your belly. Anyone else take the air deep down like this? What advantages does it have? Thanks |

holding your air helps to keep your whole body tight. breathing and expanding your stomach helps to stabilize your abs and erector muscles, along with helping the belt to function better.

Cool, thanks idk, so it's similar to what's advised for the bench. Do you know about breathing for the squat? I'll be interested to see what difference I feel next time.
