They call me Deon
I walked into a Bally's in 1998 a big shy kid that was severely insecure with my appearance. I had no idea what i was doing. I thought that in a few weeks i could look like Arnold. Boy was I wrong lmao.
I saw these 2 Huge guys doing some weird Bicep curls ( Pinwheels) and i walked up to them and said " Hey do those really work ? " After laughter died down they looked at me with smirks on their faces, and with thick New York accents told me to come back at 9am on Friday to train with them if i really wanted to see if it worked. So nervous and exited i went to the gym that morning on an empty stomach in sweats to see what was in store. I found out. PAIN !!!! I was brutalized for almost 3 hours. They were using Arnold's routine except they combined the split into one workout. If i had any food in my stomach i would have puked. Several times. I hung in there though, determined not to lose face in front of these guys. i was weak. Real weak. At the end of the workout i was so exhausted i could barely stand but i tried not to show it. My new " friends" looked at me and said if you really want to do this meet us on Sunday for the next workout. I said I'll be there. Strangely they laughed again. I went home high on endorphins thinking " well that wasn't so bad." I woke up the next morning feeling like a sumo wrestler took a swan dive into my chest from the high board. My upper body was frozen to the bed. My eyes were red. Hell my balls even hurt. I thought i was dying. I managed to roll out of bed and stumble to the kitchen. The pain was incredible. I managed to down some milk and forced myself to eat some cereal ( had no idea how to diet). Then something happened. I felt.....happy. The marquis De Sade had taken over and i was smiling. I liked the pain. It made me feel alive. My mom came in and was like " what the hell happened to you". i simply smiled and said " the greatest thing ever mom". Pain. Over the years i've lifted on and off but always loving it and always wanting to do more. I got bit by the iron bug and it has never left. After lurking in these forums for a while i have decided to fully commit to changing my body( again) and getting serious( again). Reading some of the posts have been really inspirational and I have to say i love the DC program although the stretches make me mad as hell lol. So thank you for putting this information out there and sharing it. it's priceless and it makes a difference in people lives. It has certainly changed mine for the better . When the time is right i plan on posting before and afters and my log, but i have a long way to go yet. i know i'll get there. It's now just a matter of time. So long story short, Hello my name is Deon, and i am a DC addict. ![]() Last edited by Deon : 08-06-2008 at 03:51 PM. Reason: typo |

Sure thing.
I am 32 years young( i still play video games !!). I am 6ft 260 and i live in Charlotte NC. At the height of my strength i was a sloppy 295 and have cut that down. I'm looking to get to about 225 with single digit body fat. Giddyup ! I know that i can carry more on my frame but that seems like a good goal for now. I developed a lot of bad habits that i'm correcting. The main issue was that i was completely ignorant about dieting. The hard part for me now is forcing myself to eat the protein at the right times. |

Hmm im not sure if i had to venture a guess id say its around 20%.
Although i have been regulating my carbs for the last 4 weeks and its already made big difference. I have completely cut out junk carbs and that has helped a ton. |

Found out my bodyfat is around 30% and i weigh 280 lol. Guess i carry it well. I was a little disappointed at first but then i realized i really have a lot of potential growth in there!!
![]() Anyway heres a sample of my log of my first week. Workout A: Chest: Flat Bench Press 230 RP 11-15 i got 14 Stretch with 60 lb bells for 45 secs. Shoulders: 225 Military Press 11-15 Stretch 1 min Tris: RGBP on the smythe machine 225 11-16 i got 15 Dumbell stretch 1 min each arm Back width: Rack pulls 4 sets to failure got 10-12 each time Back Thickness: Rack Deads 315 x 10-12 Hanging stretch 30 sec x 2. I oculdnt hold it for longer than that. Workout B: Bi's: Barbell Drag curls 135 11-16. Got 16 but cheated on the last one so 15 Stretch 1 min. Forearms: Pinwheels with 75 lb bells 11-16 got 15 stretch 30 sec Quads : 315 x 6 then 225 widowmaker. Stretch 1 min then hit the floor gasping lol. Hams: leg curls: 160 ( machine setting) for 12-20 got 18 stretch 1 min each leg Calves: Seated calf machine 185 ( 4 plates) leg press 6 plates and standing calf press 220 Calf stretch i min. Did a tri set until failure on each exercise. I couldn't flex my feet after these. I alternate my exercises by using bells or a hammer strength machine instead of a barbell but i really love compound movements. I lift Tuesday Thursday Sunday. I do a 2 mile walk 3 times a week for cardio with some light stretching and ab work on my non lifting days. I am still tweaking my diet but i have limited my carb intake and significantly increased my protein intake. My goal is to be getting about 400 grams per day. Its around 300 right now. I can push the weight up on all my exercises and i am gradually doing that. will keep you guys updated. Last edited by Deon : 08-08-2008 at 12:45 AM. Reason: typo |

I did some research on the Bioelectric Impedance Analyzers (BIA) that i used and found that consumer hand held ones are completely inaccurate as they cannot tell the difference between skin resistance and fat resistance.
So after using the AMA measurement scale i am around 25% BF. Still not good but better than 30 lol. Can't wait to see how i look in a year. |
