How fast can you type?

http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/

I got a kick out of this and was bored so I gave it a try a couple times. I hit 68 words a minute twice and 74 once. I was pretty impressed with myself. lol

My previous job was relaying phone conversations for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. In a call center of 150+ employees, I was number one in typing speed.

I began that job with roughly around 90 WPM

After a few months on the job.....roughly around 120 WPM on a good day. We got tested every couple of months.

Scored 108 whoot! Typed five words wrong. (I still type at my current job).

Last edited by btech : 08-01-2008 at 03:34 AM. Reason: Took the test, added the last sentence.

That is a cool site. I am adding this to my small collection. If you go to typeracer.com you can racer against others as well. As you go in it you will race against others who type about the same speed as you do. I found the link from the kim kommando show.

Only downside is if you mispell a word you have to correct it before going on. The more you do the more it averages your speed. Check it out.

is there one for timing your ten key speed? i used to do A LOT of data entry on a ten key, you can get ridiculously fast on it, but after a few hours, your hand is like a freaking claw or something lol..

sorry scott, my charts here show that you are rated at "mouth breather" right in between "caveman" and "stoner hippie" lol, i think anything above 60 wpm is pretty good, i mean, thats at least one word per second, but remember, progression is the key haha...

Took it twice. The first time, I found myself going back and correcting things and at one point found that I was a word ahead of the program. The second time I corrected two words. 103 WPM.
