I just love to train. I don't have a favorite or least favorite bodypart. If it's time to go then I'm all in!

Aloha Ben, thanks for purchasing my DVD it's on its way. As for my nutrition- you'll see that on my DVD, lets just say I eat for fuel and not for taste. Tons of protien(egg whites, chicken, beef) and Complex carbs-(oat meal and rice) Offseason- What offseason? Maybe a cheat meal on Sundays!

Cardio- Stepmill and elevated treadmill (40-50 minutes per session, moderate intensity)

Tanning product- Pro tan first then Jan Tana over it.

The number of coats depends on hard dark you are. I am asian so my skin color is already fairly dark. I usually use 1 btl. of pro tan first then 3-6 coats of jan tana.

Chris, you're conditioning is awe-inspiring. Are you more in favor of brief, intense training sessions or are you a volume guy? (i'm guessing you're more along the lines of high-intensity, but that's just a guess)...
Also, how do you guage your progress in the offseason? Obviously, if limit your bodyweight to 180 that's probably not it, do you keep trying to push the weights or just keeping an eye on yourself in the mirror?

I'm more of an intense in your face kind of guy. Get in and get out, no bullshit! It shows it all on my DVD- sets, reps, movements....
My progress comes from mirror only. Hopefully the mirror is telling the truth.

Thanks Chris, now for a follow up question, b/c I totally agree with you on the mirror b/c it's what the judges/people see that matters... How do you develop that sense of realism that says "I don't look as good as I think I do" or "I look better than I think I do"? In other words how do you draw the line between flattering yourself and being too hard on yourself?

Aloha Chris! This is Jody from dinner at the Cheesecake Factory when you were here in Colorado. Must be nice to be back in Hawai'i. Haha!

(1) Do you have a Kama 'aina rate on the new DVD?

(2) When you first started out in Bodybuilding, was there a particular bodybuilder that u admired? For me, it was/is Dexter Jackson and Dorian Yates. :/

I'm very hard on myself and never seem to look good at anytime. I'm always evaluating my physique with pictures that I take or with professional photographers. Pic's don't lie!

Strong? I'm not strong at all just very intense making sure I'm stimulating the muscle that I am training. I try to go heavy but at 42 years old.....come on now, I'm no Ronnie Coleman I can tell you that.

What's up Jody! Sure is good to be back home. How are things? Hope all is well. Kama'aina rate- how's about a free training session with the DVD when you come down to Gold's? Order it today and I'll make sure we crank out one of your best workouts. Bodybuilders I admire- no one in particular but I do admire shawn ray and local boy alan ichinose's physique.

Chris what do you think were the biggest mistakes you made early on in your career training and eating wise compared to where you are now? If you could go back and "well i wouldnt of done that, I would of done it this way"....what are some of those things you would do?

2nd) After meeting Skip did he use the same sentence on you he uses on the rest of us "Well sheesh thats enough talking about myself, lets talk a little more about me" ?

Things are good. Just been working for that kala. haha! I'll be heading back home on August 22nd. Then I'll be sure to head down to Gold's for one of my best workouts. When I gets the money though, I'll for sure get a new DVD. I really like Shawn Ray too. We talked about that before. You two are close yeah?

I really like the hardcore training style of Dorian.

Let me just say too, that you're an awesome poser. I remember seeing at the Paradise Cup 2007 and now again, here in Colorado. "Hana-hou!"

The biggest mistake I made was over training and not eating enough quality protien. Live and learn as they say.
Skip is a fantastic, hard working, driven person. There are not many that can talk the talk and walk the walk.

Hey Chris!! Thanks for answering our questions....

Ive met you in Hawaii in the Mid 90s along with Dr. Scott Connely when he was at the Kapiolani Blvd gym (It was Gold's gym if I remember then turned into a 24 Hr Fitness). You were there to announce Dr Connely. I learned a lot from Connely's lecture about protein and his theories.

I met you both afterwards...you guys were cool!

You may not remember but it was years ago! I never forgotten though!
