1000 cal low-fat bulking "dessert"
Ingredients:
2 cups skim milk 2 scoops protein powder (the powder I use has 22 grams pro, 2 grams carb, and 2 grams fat per scoop) 1 packet (1 oz. size) sugar-free, fat-free jell-o instant pudding (I used chocolate fudge for this recipe) 1 packet (35 gram size) instant oatmeal (I used a generic brand bananas and cream flavor) 1 protein bar, chopped up into about 20 pieces (the bar I use is a 60 gram size and has 20 grams pro, 25 grams carb, and 6 grams fat) 1 banana, sliced In large mixing bowl, pour in 2 cups skim milk. Add instant pudding and blend with hand blender until smooth. Add in protein powder, one scoop at a time, and blend with hand blender until smooth. Add instant oatmeal and stir into mixture with spatula, spoon or wisk. Add chopped-up pieces of protein bar and slices of banana and stir into mixture with spatula, spoon or wisk. I have large glass tumblers that hold about 24 ounces, so I just pour the mix into one of those and let sit in the fridge. In an hour its ready to eat. Nutritional breakdown: 83 grams protein, 137 grams carbs, 12 grams fat. 988 calories. I know, I know, its not quite 1000 calories. Top the dessert with some shredded coconut, or chopped walnuts and you're there. Use as a stand-alone meal or enjoy a few heaping spoonfuls at the end of each meal. Hope this helps somebody |
