Sorry to hijack if this seems to be one, but Im curious.

If a person has say a natural test level of 500 (no free test level check yet) is there any endo around who will do something for him?

I mean 500 is nothing to scoff at but its not an ideal level for a 20-25 year old like say 800 or so.

I don't know. But if you find one please let me know because as of yet I haven't round one and I have been around the 500 range since the first time I got tested back in 2001. Every doctor that I been to looks at it and says yep it's in the normal range and that is the end of the conversations. I think the only thing that would make them do something about it is if you had a previous test showing that you had been higher say in the 800 range and your level drops suddenly. My recommendation to any is have the test done in your teens regardless if you have any systems and then use the test as reference in for the future. Sure you test levels will fall as you age but they don't fall sufficiently until your 30s-40s. If they fall anytime before that then you probably have something wrong.

no there is no need for any medical help if you at 500 range. Your not hypogonadrial, no need for replacement. Try OTC supplements/herbs to boost your test levels. Nettle root, trib, ect.....

Find a new doctor? I would think 'low 300s' constitutes under 350 and if such is the case, you have to be able to find a doctor somewhere who will do the right thing.

They say the average adult male produces about 2.5 and 11mg of Test a day. I'm sure it varies with the person, but what about the average teenager?

i knew someone that was around 500 and then took nolvedex XT by Gaspari and clocked in at 1178. Its not going to put you in a muscle building enviroment but should help you feel more energized/better libido.

If someone is 500, 'below average', how could going up to 1178 not be conducive to adding muscle and decreasing fat?

Me being around 500, my problem isnt really libido. Its not having prolonged energy, easy fat storage, and hard strength/mass gains.

ok minimal gains fine, more so with the fat loss aspect and 500 is not below average.

Reguardless its your free test you should be checking, it doesnt matter how high your total test is if your free test is in the shitter.

I agree with that. I had asked my doc for a bunch of things off the top of my head test, free test, shbg, igf and others as per one of Dantes recommendations to a member of this board a while back. But for whatever reason he only ordered total test.

Im planning on getting bloodwork done when i get back home at the begining of May. I want to have something done when im young so i can see where i am at later on in life. I want to do as much as possible, most importantly cholesterol and test... what else/specifically should i get done (lets assume my insurance will cover it, which it probably will)

There was a member goliath23, he might still be around, who was having a bunch of problems. And multiple times Dante told him to get a bunch of things tested, heres the quote.

So to me you might of saved yourself 9 months of heartache with a "ohhh so theres the problem after all, my testosterone is 225, SHBG is very high which makes things even worse, and the doctor put me on armour thyroid"

I am going to repeat this again

Testosterone
free testosterone
igf
shbg
estro readings
TSH
T3 uptake
Thyroxine (and index)

Do you know how many guys Ive trained that I made get bloodwork where that turned out to be the problem? Do you know how many people Ive trained where it was found out that their thyroid output was a problem? Alot---so much so it has shocked me.

Ive had guys racking their brain thinking "geez I must be doing something wrong training or eating wise here".....and they come back with total testosterone at 172. Doug my partner at Trueprotein was helping this kid who couldnt make gains to save his life and was wracking his head jumping from training routine to training routine, and diet to diet....I told Doug you got to get him some bloodwork pronto. Total Testosterone? I believe it was 90 YES 90 on the normal scale of 252/350 to 852/950 (roundabouts)....the kid was 21 years old. Do you think your going to be gaining muscle with a total testosterone level of 90? No your not. Stop stalling and get the bloodwork done and post it
I dont know neccessarily the details of all those, but thats a list of the main things I go by.

Give him a bunch of symptoms of low T and if he still won't treat you find one that will.
Google dr. crisler if your really interested and find his web page. I've heard people are really happy with him and he does see people out of state but doesn't take insurance.
