Root Beer Float shake

Diet Root Beer Float Shake

I came up with this last night. I was just going to have some whey with some pasteurized egg whites added (from a carton) but then noticed my wife's bottle of diet root beer in the fridge.

So I put 2 scoops of a vanilla whey blend (blend of isolate & concentrate) & added some pasteurized egg whites to it in a shaker cup (not one of the huge shakers, but more a decent sized cup with lid). (Probably about 1/4 carton of egg whites, so I think about 4 egg whites). Then topped it off with diet A&W Root Beer.

The only issue I encountered was when shaking it, obviously it started to fizz due to the carbonation, so I stopped shaking it. (I don't know why I didn't think of that issue before hand...lol.)

I tasted it and even though it wasn't mixed all the way it tasted so good I drank it whey chunks and all!

I figure on just having to stir it next time.

This was seriously really good. I'm not prepping for a show or anything (as I realize this is the pre-contest suite), just trying to lean out right now, and this seems like a good, tasty, diet friendly shake.

Enjoy!

I actually use this recipe a lot!

Just blend your Protein and Eggs beforehand, and then gently stir them into your Rootbeer next time, or vice versa.

Keeps the fizzing to a minimum.

check this variation (most likely on the pwo period) krista schaus posted a while back.

1 cup Cola
1 cup low fat ice cream
1 scoop Whey Protein Powder
2 scoops Root Beer Surge
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix the Surge and milk together, then pour in the soda, otherwise you'll be sucking foam for hours.
