pain on side of shin from squatting
I've been doing the intermediate 5x5 routine for around 9 weeks. As i've been progressing on my squats i've been getting pain on the side of my shin. Either its i strained muscle, hell i don't know. Just wondering if any of you had any experience with this?
I'm 6'4" and squat ass to calf so i end of leaning forward some and it might be putting more stress on that area. Thanks. |

I'm not sure if it's shin splints. It's in this part of my leg:

I know what you mean gymmy, I sometimes get the same thing and it is not shin splints. I usually chalk it up to not warming up enough or something...but I'd be interested in a better solution/explanation as well.

not that anyone cares but i think i figured this one out on my own. I've been looking forward when i squat which causes me to push from my toes instead heels. this in turn was putting lots of pressure on the side of my shin. I started looking up now and the pain has subsided somewhat but i lost some strength from the transfer
