Skip's Little Corner of the World

I am going to try something due to the questions that I get quite a bit about what I do, what my kids do, questions about Sissy, the dogs, etc.. You name it and I get a question about it. lol After getting Sissy to commit to helping me to keep this updated and current, I am going to offer a glimpse of what goes on with Skip and the Family on a regular basis. It might end up boring and unread but it will save me answering emails, PMs, etc., about everyday things and if I don't discuss it, it isn't your business. ; )

I will start this off in the next week and probably get a Cribs Video up very soon now that I have a new camera and time to do it. It will simply remain a thread that is stickied and if it bombs I will just delete it. : )

I won't lie: It is the most fun part of going back to Michigan, bro. We are now going to title sponsor 2 shows instead of 1 in Michigan as they are splitting up the show so that the Kalamazoo is in late March and the SouthWest Michigan is in late September early October. I am soooo looking forward to heading out to the Bressa and taking in some Cowboy music. : ) Hopefully, you will be there for the show, too.

There are a couple cool country bars here in Denver but they are on such a grand scale that they are nothing like the Bressa - a barn out in the middle of nowhere with patio furniture and folding tables. lol

Sometimes people go a bit overboard and I only say "overboard" because if they were friends I wouldn't give the questions a second thought but when I don't know them, it qualifies for overboard. Anyone that knows Sissy and myself will know that it is hard to offend us or ask us things that we would think are not appropriate but it creeps me out sometimes when people try to get a little too personal when we don't know them.

I am going to try to get a Cribs video, too, if I didn't already mention this. I might wait until closer to Christmas, though.

I am not sure if you are serious but....

My favorite refeed meals in the offseason are:

1. sushi for sure is at the top of the list
2. Home-grilled lean burgers
3. French toast for carb refeeds

I don't have cheat meals unless I am simply not training like after a show. In that case, my favorite meals are:

1. Village Inn breakfasts like belgium waffles with an absolute ton of butter and syrup, bacon and sausage and eggs and toast.
2. Krispy Kreme doughnuts
3. Gunther Toodys burgers, cheese fries and a malted.
4. Red Robin burgers and fries
5. Desserts. This is about the only time of the year that I eat any dessert is after a show. I love combinations of things like pecan pie and ice cream or warm brownies or warm cookies with ice cream, etc..

I also find myself drinking a ton of full flavor cherry cokes after shows, too.

I am getting tired of the food, to be honest. It is now Friday and usually by Thursday or so after a show I have pretty much eaten everything I want to eat and filled out and the hunger is no longer an issue. I can't wait to get back into the gym on Monday. Actually, I will probably get back on my diet on Monday but not train until Tuesday because I will be training Tues and Thurs in the p.m. and Saturdays about noon for now. I am going back to 3 days a week as I made my best gains at 3 days for quite a while. I will switch to 4 days when I get accustomed to the 3 day routine and recovery is consistent. This probably won't be until the end of the month or so and maybe even into January. I actually plan to be pretty clean and detailed again by the end of the first week of training and dieting. I am in pretty good shape right now but just holding quite a bit of water.

Sissy and I will be training together again which I am looking forward to. We switched so that she could take my oldest daughter to the gym because my daughter is getting lazy as shit but it isn't working. She is so lazy that she doesn't want to go to the gym, too.

Saturday night is our night to go out - Sissy and I. This is known in our house that Saturdays are ours. Our oldest daughter babysits every Saturday night. We sometimes go out as she prefers to go out to dance or something similar and I, of course, prefer to sit around with friends at someone's house. lol Go figure, huh? Saturdays during the day are family days or for family time and so are Sundays. Sundays I refuse to go anywhere as I feel Sundays are for laying around watching movies, football, having friends over, etc.. I don't like to go anywhere on Sundays. This Saturday, as an example, we are taking the kids up to Frisco, Colorado (absolutely beautiful) and just hanging out for the day doing whatever we want to. Musclebelly and his wife and kids are going, as well, and we are working on IG and PC to take their kids, as well. Fridays are not much different than any other day of the week because Sissy doesn't get home from work until about 7pm and we let our oldest have her night out to spend the night at a friend's house, smoke pot, have sex, you know- high school stuff. Sometimes, Sissy will go out with her friends and get tanked while I stay home with the kids on Friday night. I don't like to drink so I don't miss out on much.... I don't think. lol

Well as long as your daughter is home at a reasonable hour i don't see an issue with any of that stuff haha

My dad's step dad is from Denver and always talk about how gorgeous it is in Colorado. Skip I'm curious how your going to maintain decent shape calorie wise.

I am going to stage my metabolism over the next 3-4 weeks and I am pretty sure I will be able to maintain 208-210 while growing at a calorie intake of 3000-3500. This time I will have my metabolism working for me and I think this is very feasible.

I also want to point out that I am not stuck on the 208-210 bodyweight. I am using those numbers more to explain the bodyfat level that I want to maintain. You guys know what I look like at 208-210 and that is the bodyfat level that I want to hold. Now, if I can hold that bodyfat at 215 or even more as time goes by, I am fine with that and I won't force my bodyweight to stay below 210. I just want to be clear that bodyfat level and conditioning is my primary focus instead of forcing my bodyweight to stay at a certain number.

I am also going to enjoy the Holidays and eat Christmas dinner and have Christmas cookies if I feel like it. I am not "dieting" over the Holidays as much as I will keep things tight and clean but allow myself to eat if or when I feel like it.

I still look good but..... it is fading quickly. I am pretty watery right now, to be completely honest. I am filling out quickly. : ) Now, my BODYFAT has hardly gone up so that is why I know I will clean up quickly next week with most all of my issues right now being water.

My split over the 3 days will look like this (nothing fancy):

Tuesdays
chest, delts, tris

Thursdays
back, traps, biceps, lowerback

Saturdays
quads, hams, calves, abs

When I go to 4 days I will rotate like this:
Monday - chest, delt, tri
Tuesday - back, trap, biceps
Thursday - chest, delt, tri
Saturday - legs

The following week:
Monday - back, traps, bis
Tuesday - chest, delts, tris
Thursday - back, trap, bis
Saturday - legs

Repeat.

I am only training legs once a week while rotating every other week hitting chest twice one week and twice the following and vice versa for back.

Yup. I need to widen my delts and increase my delt to waist ratio, widen my back and my weakest link is my lowerback due to consistently injuring it. I don't know what, if anything, I can do with my lowerback but I am going to look into it quite a bit.
