Now that I have kids, I don't ask for much and pretty much insist that Sissy doesn't get me much. I would rather get the kids more stuff and I really don't need much of anything because if I do need something throughout the year, I buy it for myself. : )

I will say that this year will be a good one because I am getting something that I REALLY do want even though I already know what it is. I won't say, though, as I would rather not have this as common knowledge.

Now, the BEST gifts I ever got are tied between 2:
1. My grandmother who was probably 65 at the time, was on vacation in California and walked into the Venice Golds and bought me a sweatshirt that said "Venice" on the bottom in the front. I was floored when I opened it because grandmas usually get you lame shit but I was about 20 or so and not only was it cool but the thought of her walking into that gym was flattering to me. I had no idea she would ever do that.

2. My catcher's mitt that I got when I was in the 5th grade. That was in about 80-81 and it was a Wilson, double hinge top of the line glove. I found out later that it was $125 at THAT time so that would be like twice that, now.

Fast forward to this year: My son who is 7, out of the blue, told me he wants a catcher's mitt and mask. I asked him why and he said that his buddy has one and he wants one. I asked him what the catcher does and he explained it to me. I also asked him if he knew that I played baseball when I was young and that I was pretty good. He says with a smile on your face and rolling his eyes, "Sure you were, Dad". I told him I was serious so he asks me, "If you played baseball, what position did you play?" I told him that I was a catcher for years and he lit up. It was pretty neat. I got him a badass Nike, two tone glove and my wife was irritated at first because it wasn't very cheap. She felt better after I told her I would have paid 5 times that, under the circumstances.

: )

I was headed in that direction but, no, I didn't. It was funny because I was gifted as a baseball player in pretty much all aspects of the game - I batted incredibly well, was known for my defense behind the plate but had a mediocre arm. Had I spent even a fraction of the time that I had in the gym at that time, I could have honed my skills and been an incredible ball player. Instead, as most that "on top" of their sport do, I simply relished that I was pretty much the best ball player in the area and figured I was going to the top, anyway. Why work at it? lol How is that for a teenage attitude?

It was probably a blessing because I absolutely love what I do right now and have for a while. The thought of traveling without family doesn't appeal to me. Sure, the money would be insane but... I would probably be in the Mitchell Report, too. LOL

LOL!

i was the same way...very gifted with skill and ability, but being 145lbs at 5'8" when I finished my second year of college - i certainly wasn't knocking down any doors physically. now had i put in some time and made myself 190lbs? then i woulda been a force...hindsight is 20/20 though.

I am living in a HUGE hockey town (surprised? I know you're not, me being Canadian and all) and I see tons of kids come up and have unreal talent but just nothing between the ears...or no desire to better themselve off the ice, so they can better themselves on the ice.

The powerlifters I am training with right now are strength and conditioning coaches for one of the junior teams in town, and they get so frustrated with all the dumb-fuckery of these talented kids....they go in the gym and fuck about and end up playing on a shitty men's team somewhere, wondering what the hell happened, reliving the "glory days"

I am not a very crazy guy. I am sure when I was young I did some dumb shit but I don't think I have ever really done crazy shit. To me, crazy implies wreckless and doing something with impulsivity and not weighing out consequences or pros and cons. Even when I do dumb shit I am a thinker and I always shoot things from all angles before making a decision. Sissy will tell you that I am anything but impulsive. lol

The more I think about it, I always liked laying on my tank and doing 120 to work in the left lane in the Interstate. I remember times when I would do 10 miles without letting off the throttle. That is about as "crazy" as it gets.

Which nutritionists do you admire the most?

Which countries would you like to travel to the most?

Were you black when you were born?

I don't know about "admire" but I respect a few of them because they are good people. I respect Troponin (Justin) because he is a solid guy with a solid personality and character. As far as respect what a nutrition knows or his track record, I respect people that have proven themselves over the long haul even though I might not agree with some of their approaches. Guys like Chris Aceto come to mind.

If I could travel outside the US I would probably want to go to go somewhere like Thailand or somewhere that is completely different with climate, culture, etc.. Egypt is another place that interests me. However, traveling abroad doesn't interest me much right now because of the tension around the world and I don't think I would too comfortable outside of the US.

In the US I want to go to Alaska and somewhere far east like Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine.

I was born white. The color has evolved. lol

Big question of the day for Skip & Co.

Favorite waffle?
Favorite syrup flavors?
Favorite cut of steak?

(can you tell i am beside myself bored at work this morning?) lol!

My favorite waffle is the Belgium waffle at Village Inn but if you mean from the store, I haven't had those in a while but I like the Kelloggs homestyle ones, the best. I am asking Sissy for a Belgium waffle maker for Christmas, among other things. Oh, and I don't pour the syrup over my belgium waffles. I have to pour the syrup into a bowl and then dip the bites of waffle into the syrup because otherwise pouring it over the top of the waffle will make the waffle suck up too much syrup and taste like nothing but sugar and make me sick halfway through the waffle. lol

Syrup flavors are in this order:
Real maple
Mrs. Butterworths
Blueberry/boysenberry/strawberry

I like the fruity flavors but not as much as maple flavored syrups.

I am not real big on steak, actually. I only really eat steak if I go to two restaurants: Ruths Cris and the Outback. At the Outback I would get the center cut sirloin, for sure. Ruths Cris, it doesn't matter because it is all to die for. : )

Skip,

you probably talked about this already, but it would be nice if you could explain how you came up, with the idea, to have your own " Muscle Board - IM " and how it all got started etc...

Oh boy, this is a long one but I am going to REALLY shorten it. I had been on the boards for quite a while when I stumbled upon a board where I met Winnie. He was an admin and the owner of the site approached me to have a private forum to train people and so I jumped all over it. At the time I was doing it primarily via email when I was getting started with the online prep work.

I ended up a mod and then an admin relatively quickly on that board but it didn't take long for Winnie and I to figure out that the owner was crooked as fuck. He would start different supplement companies, advertise on the site, rip off a bunch of people and then start up a different one under a different name and repeat, etc..

This happened shortly after I got to that board and a bunch of people left including a lot of mods. I didn't believe that the owner would do something like that because he was "so good to me" for giving me my own forum, etc.. So, I stayed and got to know Winnie. I also brought in a couple other mods in the name of Homonunculus and Kidrok. I was also talking with Dante to get him to come to this site, as well.

When it happened the second time, it was very clear to winnie and I what was going on and the owner basically left us to clean up the mess, answer to people, etc.. We were being associated with the problems and were accused of sticking up for the owner when we were responding saying we knew nothing of what was going on. When we figured it all out, we rounded up all of the mods and decided to shitcan the site and start our own site, fresh.

It was Kidrok who named the site (IntenseMuscle.com) and could have been owned by any one of the mods at that time. It just so happened that Winnie knew how to handle it all and took the reigns. The site has always been referred to as "Skip's Site" probably because I am higher profile than the others but the truth is, it really belongs to all of the supermods but legally is owned by Winnie and myself, now. Winnie and I became partners about a year ago, November. We turn 4 years old in February. I think it is February 24th. We turned 21k members just a couple days ago.

That is the short version, yes. lol Winnie or any of the other supermods can chime in if they want to.
