2 month update...

Beginning of Dec 07 - 270 lbs

BEFORE (12-2-07) - front double bicep

AFTER (2-2-08) - front double bicep

AFTER (ANOTHER) - front double bicep

Here's some progress photos. Started at 270 lbs at the beginning of December '07 and now I'm just under 240 lbs during the first week of March '08. I think I'm about halfway there, maybe slightly over halfway. I think I'll end up at my "visual goal" by the time I reach 215-220 lbs. What do you guys think?

(note: I'm drug free.....reference my past threads / posts..)

UPDATE 5-3-08

Hey everyone.....I finally got around to taking some progress photos this past Saturday (5/3/08). For those of you who haven't been following my progress, here's a quick summary of my lifting & diet history:

- 100% LIFETIME NATURAL
- After graduating high school (1997), I started lifting for collegiate wrestling (175 lbs)
- Graduated college (UPJ) in 2001 at 220 lbs
- Started taking diet & training seriously after college
- Followed a DC training protocol (for the most part) for the last 4 years
- Reached a bodyweight of 270 lbs in December of 2007
- Started a fat loss diet for the first time in December 2007

I have to say before I post the photos, that I'm just EXTREMELY happy with the progress so far. I can't believe the difference to this point. As of 5/3/08, I weigh 227 lbs. Based on my estimations, I have another 15-20 lbs to go. The past few weeks have been small losses, but I haven't been on my best behavior diet-wise! Keep in mind, I really suck at posing, some of the lighting isn't the greatest, and the camera was tilted everytime I took the photos! Yeah, I need practice, but I did my best to make it consistent!

This whole process, believe it or not, has been SIMPLE! Honestly, I make sure to get about 1g / lb of bodyweight for protein, center my carbs around my activity levels (lifting, cardio, & morning), and get some healthy fats along the way. My daily intake is somewhere around 2500 calories, but at this point, my diet is 100% instinctive......I stopped counting calories awhile ago.

Of course, I'm doing cardio 3-4 days per week. Since the weather has finally broke up here in Somerset County, PA, I've been running for my cardio. (I mix it up between the HIT & low intensity variety)

I've learned 2 very important lessons during this process:

1) People DRASTICALLY UNDERESTIMATE BODYFAT LEVELS! I can't believe how much was actually packed on my frame. In my original photos, most people were telling me 15%-18% max.....I think it was much higher!

2) Now that I look back on it, I was really deceiving myself into thinking that I looked good! Let's be honest here....I was pretty fat. Sure, I wasn't obese or anything, but I just looked like crap!

Well, here's some photos!

Dec 07 - Back Double Bicep

May 08 - Back Double Bicep

Dec 07 - Front Double Bicep

May 08 - Front Double Bicep

Thanks man....I still have a little ways to go. I'm seeing veins and muscles now that I thought were long gone! Another 1.5 - 2 months should get me pretty close to my visual goal.

My lifts are comparable. It's been tough recently to make gains on them, but I'm still using probably 85%-90% of my original weight from December. Losing almost 50 lbs makes a pretty big difference!

No, actually it was right away in the morning....depleted. I need practice posing though....my other poses look really awkward!

Great cutting progress...my question to you...

When you started to no longer make strength gains, due to the extended period of leaning out. Did you change your training at all? Did you stop dropping exercises if you were unable to beat the logbook?
