Questions to the judges

1-How often do you guys see something like this at NPC shows?

2-What would you say as a judge if these individuals approached you and asked what they should improve on for their next show? Especially the last guy.

More importantly why is this allowed? Basically anyone from the street can put on some Pro Tan sign up and stand in the line up. I seen a video where "as a bet" or "a prank" there were two regular guys in the line up making fun of bodybuilders with their caricature mocking posing and the judges let that go on. Is this fair to the guys who actually busted their ass to get to the stage? Spent money on a prep guy and actually did their homework? Why do judges let these guys perform all the rounds and posing?

I am a NANBF judge so maybe I can answer? These are what we call "Hermit" Bodybuilders.....guys who workout in thier garage of some small gym without anyone to tell them maybe you should wait a little while longer before you hit the stage.

That being said you can tell all three of these guys workout and and aspire to be BBer......even the skinny guy is obviously not some guy who got on stage to goof with his buddies......they just need some help to get going.

Even if they train in a garage and don't have anyone to tell them to wait. When they were picking a show to compete in, I am pretty sure they went online (find the org, and forms) and usually these sites have pictures of previous competitors. Is their perception of themselves way off? Are these people retarded?

hey nikkiboy, maybe your perception of your self is way off. why are you asking if they are retarded ? do you know where these people came from ? do you know what they had to overcome to be on stage ? just because someone is not as massive or ripped as you are, doesn't mean that they are retarded, maybe they are. Maybe you need to sit back and count your blessings instead of criticizing others nikkiboy.

This was never about me! And I never stated anything along the lines of how "massive or ripped" I am, you did that.

#1 This was NPC Europa show

#2 I think anyone can come looking like this

#3 It's a bodybuilding show, people come to showcase their body I think criticism comes along with it. And you are a judge who CRITIQUES people! So how can you even say this "count your blessings instead of criticizing others" A few minute ago you said

Here is my take: Legit. competitors work hard to get in shape, have size and have paid their dues under the iron. Others, well lets just say have not. But they still show up at competitions and make a mockery of the whole show. It's not fair...there has to be some basic standards for entry or it becomes a joke IMO.

I agree with Paradise, yes maybe they SHOULD wait longer. But we have no idea how much work they have put in to getting to where they are. Maybe one of them was obese at one time. Maybe one was in an accident that doctors said they would never lift again.

People are very judgemental like this. I am guilty of this as well as there were some "hermits" in our show. But if they have the willpower to do everything they could for prep, and the courage to step on stage, they are winnersin my book.

It would be different if you would KNOW the competitor, knew where he came from, and came in looking like this. We would all cheer them on no matter what.

I have question for a judge. I am going to compete in my first show and on the registration form it explains the mandatory poses. Well for the side relaxed it says arms will be at your sides. What is that garbage?

You've seen competitors, when doing the side "relaxed" mandatory pose, pull their arm across their torso? You can't do that! Instead, you're supposed to stand there, lats flexed, without rotating the arm in front of the torso. Judges are being more strict about enforcing this rule, so pay attention.
