Best way to cook 5 pounds of ground meat???

If you wanted to cook five pounds of ground meat at once what would you use to cook it in? I am looking to make crumbles, not patties...so the grill is out. I can't find a frying pan big enough, and using a big pot takes for-friggin-ever. If anyone knows a good option let me know.

I just did 3lbs worth a couple days ago. The simple way to do this is to just dump it all into a big pot with water and let it simmer on low-medium heat till its all turned brown. Keep giving it a stir every few minutes. Keep it coverd too. I add in 1/2 cup of pineapple juice for every pound of beef and this helps tenderize and break down the beef protein (bromelain enzyme) and it makes the beef taste fricking awsome! Just drain your beef well after its done to remove the fruit sugars and water from the beef.

I have tried boiling it in water and I just can't stomach it. I think that I am looking for maybe a gigantic frying pan or maybe some other kind of device that I haven't heard of yet LOL.

I have a very large skillet... the same diameter as a large wok, but about 5 inches deep.

Works great for browning then adding spagehtti sauce and simmering,( just one example)

I was going to suggest a large turkey fryer but using water but since you don't care for the boiled meat then a large electric skillet may be the best option.
I can do 2 pounds of ground venison or beef in one of those.

But I have found the boiled meat is a soooo much easier on my stomach than fryed meat even if I use no oil in non-stick cookware. That and boiling it takes so much fat out of the meat I boil nearly everything.
Boil it, put it in the fridge and get rid of the fat.

It does take a bit to get used to though!! And some seasoning is a must.
I like the pineapple juice idea, may have to try that.

Another thing that can be done which I do from time to time is take the meat that has been boiled and flash fry it in a pan for some added "texture" so to speak. That and I can get a little more seasoning added in at that time as well.

Use a big pan

dump in some olive oil on medium heat
add fresh minced garlic (alot of it) and thin sliced banana peppers to the oil. Let this cook for a few minutes then add the ground meat and two zucchini cut into small slices.

Taste great this way

I boil it and pour off the fat one or two times then.......add some spices to the water. I actually have had the spiced water as a soup. Try it with spice or some BBq sauce in the water.

Get the george foreman grill but get the flat one. I forget the name and im too lazy to go downstairs. Its by far the easiest thing to clean and you can easily fit 5-8 lbs at a time. It takes about 10-20min If I remember correctly to cook it all. It cost me about 35$ to buy and I love it soo much more than the grill version.

Go to Johnny Rockets, get a milk shake with whip cream and choco syrup...tell those bastards that you want 5 lbs of ground beef and that you want it now, get a side of fries AND onion rings, and make sure you do this everyday, 3-5 times a day, it's not bad for you at all i swear.

Get a wok from target. They are 20 bucks and you can cook 5 pounds of anything easily in that.

i think what you are looking for is a cauldron. Light up the fireplace, thrown in a cauldron filled with an inordinate amount of red meat. Come back in 4-6 hours.

If you have a big pot like you would use to boil noodles for spaghetti in that will work. Just dump the meat in there throw the lid on turn on medium heat. It will cook up pretty fast. Season to taste. If it is fatty burger, use a noodle strainer to drain the fat off, then rinse with hot water. This will eliminate a lot of fat.

I use a huge skillet...but if you don't have access to one, just do 2.5lbs at a time in a smaller one.

I usually chop up an onion or two and add that in, plenty of garlic, pepper, some sea salt...

After I drain the fat out and put it all in a container, I add a packet of chili seasoning while stirring it all up and it tastes fucking DELICIOUS this way. Try it out.
