I read about it - sounds great. I don't like to watch trailers these days coz they give away so much.

I saw Vacancy last night - thought it was great - ending was a bit flat but one of the better thrillers I've seen in a while.

The original was a breakthrough for me, I loved it, but the second was a vast disappointment, I felt the traps were unsuspenseful and too easily conceived, but then three came and blew me away again with a perfect "bookend" to the original three movies, perfectly wrapping the stories for all three so that they can move on from there to start a new story line in the 4-6th. Three was by far my favorite though, as i felt more invested in the characters than in the original even

The first Saw movie was great, the second was horrible and the third was watchable.

saw 3 is by far the most graphic of the series, and showed way more than Hostel ever did. if you dont like non-clinical brain surgery then i would advise against it

even if it is great i have an extremly hard time seeing another version of a movie if a previous one sucked ass. it was the same deal with spiderman 1, it was so lame that it was impossible for me to go see 2 or 3

i watched hannibal rising the other night...not a bad flick...not the same without hopkins as hannibal.

a little bit of gore, a little bit of suspense,

not a whole lot of anything though, and a soft ending.

Since someone mentioned the Saw movies, I went back and watched all three this past week.
I think the first one was just great. A new concept for a movie, just made it original. Saw II, not too good. It felt like they just spat it out because the first one did well, and didn't really put much thought into it. Saw III, brought back some thought and made it a pretty good movie, while I saw the ending coming half way through the movie, it was still worth the watch. I also thought it was a good lead into the next movie.

Ill be watching The Hole if only for this reason. High Tension is one of the smartest and most brutal movies ever made, I cant think of anyting that really compares wit it.

Anyone ever see Brainscan, with Ed Furlong? Most people hated it, but I quite enjoyed it.

It has been a long time, but I saw it years ago. Pretty good from what I remember about it.

the original from the 80s (?) right? I can tell you exactly what the box looks like because i have passed it on the shelf so many times but never watched it, I will have to pick it up. Bought the following this week:

Kill Joy
Ju Rei
Stepford Wives
The Changeling
Black Christmas
3 master of horror episodes
Revenge of the Nerds
House
Blood and Black Lace
Return of the Living Dead 2+3

Hostel II tonight, read on Rotten Tomatos that it onloy got a 5.4/10 user rating but i imagine horror movies tend to do horrible on there.

I just watched High Tension last night and have just one quetsion.
****Spoiler for those who have not seen it***

OK, I get it Marie and the killer are one in the same and a lot of the scenes are just her dillusions and split-personality but, how did Alex get the knife in the back of the truck? It shows Marie give it to her before she got out of the truck at the gas station but, Marie was not back there she was up front driving yet Alex still had the knife when Marie let her out of the back of the truck near the end. Everything else I can kinda justify but, the whole knife thing has me baffled.

Brainscan was from 1994 - http://imdb.com/title/tt0109327/

I watched Dead Silence last night. Utterly terrible. I made it half way through before fast forwarding to the ending. DO NOT WATCH.

Man this is a great thread! You guys have conviced me to rent Saw III. I was about to give up on the series after seeing part II but the non-clinical brain surgery sounds interesting....

I have to disagree about High Tension -- I was really pumped for it, but I figured out the ending about halfway through the movie and that kinda killed it for me.

28 Weeks-- I highly recommend. 8.5/10 -- Good mix of suspense and action.

Anyone have any comments on Disturbia? I thought this looked kinda good but never got around to seeing it.

I thought I was the only one in the world to see that movie. LOL. Yeah, I thought it was creative. Trixter was a pimp. Good soundtrack to that movie if you like rock.

I still think Halloween was the best horror movie ever made! If any of you ever see my myspace page you have a real treat to see! It is sick, freaky, and utterly cool!
