I definitley agree with you on Saw Carl. I liked Saw III the best, so hopefully they will keep them in that style. Event Horizon is awesome, I think I saw that in the theatre twice and have watched it multiple times.

Well I just finished watching it. I actually prefer hostel 2 over the first one. The first movie bored the crap out of me. The set up is pretty much the same, three girls (two hotties ) go to the hostel, and the fun begins. You get to see more of the other side in this one. I wouldn't call it a great movie, but not bad either.

It's one scene in it that will make you cringe...

I agree with what you wrote. I didn't think much of the first either. Like you said the second is better, but still not necessarily a good film. lol

Cabin Fever was ridiculous...I liked it for some reason...The environment that they shot the movie in reminded me of the 1st Friday the 13th. I loved the first Friday the 13th; maybe because I've watched it so many times as a kid. My favorite "guilty pleasure" horror of all time is Creepshow. I have a fondness for that movie--I thought the stories were strong, especially "The Crate".

Black Christmas remake is incredibly bad. Just awful. I can't believe they did that to a classic.

i think Eli mentioned in the commentary that he wanted to personify the delirium that the infection causes, and that that kid just happened to be a third degree blackbelt or something so he wrote it into the script

Horror in your House
June 5, 2007
By: Tex Massacre

The Absence of Light: York Home Video

When a well-meaning scientist discovers how to create life that will benefit humanity, two competing organizations bent on world dominance attempt to steal the secret and create instead a race of inhuman super soldiers that will make slaves of the world!

Caroline Munro, Tom Savini, Michael Berryman, Tom Sullivan, David Hess and Tony Todd star in, what must be, and horror convention fan’s wet dream film.

Alone in the Dark, Afraid of the Dark, Relentless 3 & 4 — Quadruple Feature: Image

Brace yourself for four times the terror! During a power failure, murderous psychopaths break out of a mental institution and lay siege to their doctor's house in ALONE IN THE DARK, one of the most terrifying and memorable cult films of the 1980s. The chilling AFRAID OF THE DARK follows a psychic boy troubled by a razor-toting slasher who preys on defenseless blind women. Detective Sam Dietz pursues a savagely cunning serial killer who carves up young women and taunts police by mailing them pieces of his handiwork in RELENTLESS 3. Then Dietz returns in RELENTLESS 4, hot on the trail of a bloodthirsty murderer with a passion for ritualistic executions.

Here’s you change to pick up four films that aren’t really worth the price of one, for the price of one!!!

Big Bad Wolf: Screen Media/Universal

A wild college party in a remote cabin will go horribly wrong when Derek Cowley and his friends find themselves terrorized by a bloodthirsty werewolf. While fighting for his life, Derek will discover a shocking and horrifying secret about the monster he must kill to survive.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari: Image (TEX’S PICK OF THE WEEK)

Follow a new twist in the warped road of delirium in this "remix" of silent film era classic! Writer and director David Lee Fisher scanned the original backgrounds of the 1919 classic and put speaking actors into the mix.

What sounds like a bad idea from the start, actually presents itself and an impressive post-millennial take on German Expressionism. If you’ve never seen the original film, shame on you, but Fischer’s new take is brilliant starting point for film fans looking to broaden their genre horizons.

Chicago Massacre – Richard Speck: Lionsgate

On July 14, 1966, Richard Speck took 9 student-nurses hostage. He held the girls, methodically beating, raping and stabbing them to death in one of the bloodiest mass murders in American history.

Michael Feifer follows-up his Ed Gein biopic with a new look at the horrors of Richard Speck. Featuring an appearance by everyone’s favorite scream queen Debbie Rochon, the film stars Corin Nemic, Andrew Divoff and Tony Todd. I wonder why this wasn’t assigned to Ulli Lommel? Could it be that Lionsgate is branching out?

Day of the Ax: Brain Damage Films

On May 8th, 1984, 12-year-old J.R. Sorg murdered his mother with an ax. For eight years, the boy remained at the Saint Catherian Mental State Hospital. In 1992, he escaped, brutally murdering many innocent people in the process. The manhunt for J.R. was called off after six months due to lack of evidence; the media had a field day and titled it "Day of the Ax." But this so called Day of the Ax was only the beginning.

The Dead Zone: The Complete Fifth Season: Lionsgate

Based on the characters and story from the best-selling book by Stephen King, THE DEAD ZONE is a unique psychological thriller that combines a rich mix of action, the paranormal and a continuing quest for justice.

Edgar Allan Poe’s Darkness: Brain Damage Films

A theater group's obsession of Edgar Allan Poe turns fatal while performing his works. Mysterious voices, strange smells and moving objects force Rex and Lyman to make a horrific decision. Obsession with bloodletting and having sex with the same girl drives the awkward pair to the unthinkable.

Fox Special Packaging Reissues: ALIEN, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, THE OMEN, PREDATOR

Do you really need to by new editions of these four films just cause the box art changed? Seriously, doesn’t Fox have some catalog shit that needs to be issued instead!

Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster: Classic Media/Genius Entertainment

A prophetess from Venus foretells cataclysmic disasters! Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan reappear in Japan, wreaking havoc! A giant meteor crashes into the mountains and the three-headed, fire-spitting space dragon King Ghidorah emerges! As the Venusian's prophecies come true, assassins from a tiny Asian kingdom hunt her down, while the Earth monsters must decide whether to settle their petty differences and join forces against the extraterrestrial enemy!

Hellboy (Blu-ray): Sony Pictures

Time to pick up Guillermo del Toro’s version of Mike Mignola’s brilliant comic in Blu-ray? I think so.

Hex: The Complete First Season: Sony Pictures

Cassie is a shy high school girl who wants to be accepted by others, but is only truly loved by her best friend Thelma. Cassie later discovers that she possesses dangerous powers, and is being drawn into a world that’s far beyond her control. And the man that she should fear the most manages to find a way into her heart

This 3-disc set brings all 10 of the first season episodes of this under-watched British series to DVD.

Invasion of Astro Monster: Classic Media/Genius Entertainment

Aliens from Planet X borrow our monsters for a little extermination project, but they've got something else up their sleeves: world domination! Using mind-control technology, these vinyl-and-sunglasses wearing spacemen turn Godzilla, Rodan and King Ghidorah loose in Japan, demanding Earth's surrender!

Meatball Machine: TLA Releasing

Meatball Machine is a wild, splatterific, experimental sci-fi/horror rollercoaster that will have your entire brain and body shaken and stirred. Capable of making biomechanical weapons out of human flesh, alien parasites grotesquely invade the Earth, turning their hosts into maniacal killers who seek and destroy each other to the bloody death! And yes, it s also a human love story, even though the budding romantics are infested with slimy, tumor-like globules.

The Messengers: Sony Pictures

In The Messengers, the Solomon family leaves the hustle-and-bustle of Chicago life for the solace of a small, run-down farm in North Dakota. As Roy and Denise Solomon try to repair their failing marriage, their troubled teenage daughter, Jess and 3-year-old son, Ben realize their new farmhouse is haunted.

The Nurse: Echo Bridge

A traumatized nurse plots revenge against a catatonic businessman, whom she blames for the death of her family, by integrated herself as his personal nurse and plots revenge by killing off his family members one by one.

Satan’s Storybook: Telavista

From the burning depths of Hell, come three demonic tales of evil of Earth in this full-length non-stop fright-fest! From sword and sorcery to a grisly tale of modern-day mayhem to a suicidal clown! All mortal sins revealed...you wouldn’t believe your eyes.

That’s right porno fans, this one from 1989 stars Charlie Sheen’s favorite ex-girlfriend and recent Rob Zombie actress Ginger Lynn Allen.

Seizure: Televista

A prominent fantasy writer invites several guests to his isolated home for the weekend. But the gathering is crashed by three devilish figures from the author's dreams. When he awakes, it is only to discover that this is one nightmare he cannot escape.

Hervé Villechaize & Jonathan Frid, directed by Oliver Stone…what took so long to get this schlock onto disc!!!

Terror Toons 2

The sequel to the original cult hit, "Terror Toons". Tiffany Saunders is turning twelve today and her parents are throwing a birthday party to celebrate to occasion. But when Tiffany receives a free cartoon DVD in the mail from, uh, Satan, well, Mom and Dad can't end the party soon enough! As two demented cartoon characters, evil Hansel and twisted Gretel, kill and maim everyone in sight, what are a couple of mere humans to do? Tiffany's sexy older sister, Tina, recruits three hot young men, from the party, to help destroy the terrible twosome and find a way out of this cartoon nightmare.

Toxic Zombies: Telavista

In a remote and idyllic forest a group of six young men and women are growing an illegal field of marijuana. Two agents armed with rifles come across one of the young women farming the marijuana. She tries to flee and they shoot and kill her. Alerted by the noise, and fearful of their own discovery, the other farmers attack and kill the agent. Meanwhile, in Washington, the head of the agency authorizes the forest area to be sprayed by Dromax, a defoliant not fully tested but feared to have bizarre side effects

Yea, I thought Wolf Creek was awesome but some of my friends hated it. I watched Black Christmas a few weeks back, I guess it was what you would expect from a remake.

Wolf Creek is Dougs new favorite movie, I havent seen something as gritty and realistic since the original Chainsaw. My wife refuses to watch it because she thinks the lead up is boring, but I think it gives the film that much more integrity
