I'm a cherry-need some advice
Been blasting for 8 weeks (first time), 4 weeks to contest. Do I blast another 2-3 weeks and start cruise last week, or cruise 1-2 weeks and ease back into another blast? Since this was my first blast I started conservatively and don't feel burnt out. What say the guru's of the board?

yea, kinda, sorta, i don't know
Maybe I'm missing the boat, but I thought that the same training principle that builds muscle will help maintain muscle while leaning down. I'm 44 and I'm not under any illusions of actually gaining new muscle now but hard brief training and starting exercises on about 90% of max has allowed me to increase numbers on workouts over the last 8 weeks. As far as final week protocal- no I haven't got specifics on carb deplete carb load yet, but to be honest I'm not a big believer in drastic changes in the last week diet wise anyway. I figure I've probably been depleting now for about 20 weeks so I'll gradually up carbs something like 1.5x bw on Wed., 2xbw on Thurs., 2.5xbw on Fri and gradually cut water back from 2 gallons on Wed to about 1/2 gallon on fri before 12-2 pm and sip from there in while eliminating sodium as much as possible over the last three days. No creatine or water retaining supps so that shouldn't be an issue, and no super supps since 1989- they should be out of my system by now.
Seriously though I would appreciate your imput, I know I don't know more than I do know. |
