Chicken Question

Kind of an odd question but I figured this was as good a place as any to ask. How long will chicken stay good in the fridge? For instance, I cooked up a shitload of chicken breast Sunday night and had it Monday & Tuesday. Will it still be good today?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it should be good.

Do the "smell" test.

My rule of thumb is 3 days after being cooked....I have stretched it to 4 before, but I prefer to keep it at 3 for obvious reasons.

Awe come on! 3 day old chicken is still good, so don't waste it. Just put a little ketchup and tobasco sauce on it. You'll be ah-ite!

What I would do if I was you.....cut up the chicken breasts in little peices (as long as it smells alright) and mix in a 1/4 cup of oatmeal and 1/2- 1/2 and a 1/4... add in 1/2 teaspoon of salt and some chili pepper sauce....

It will take you just less than 5 minutes to eat it! That way, you dont waste food and get your nutrition : )

Its pretty much low in carbs and high in protein! : )

Thats Me. Grill on Sunday for the entire week. Chicken, Turkey Cutlets and Flank Steak. Does me good week in and out.

Smell it, then taste it. Forget eat eat, you know you're only one stomach flu away from your goal weight. Ha

Same as Force.

I usually cook a lot of chicken, fish and red meat on Sundays. I freeze half of them, and the other half go to the fridge. They last until Wednesday.

Something you can do is to put some paper towel in the plastic tupperwares. They will absorb all the water that comes from the chicken. That helps a lot to preserve the food (bacteria, etc).

There's also that new-fangled device called a freezer. Cook, freeze, thaw 1 days worth at a time.
