That particular competition was in Dunnville. http://www.ontariostrongman.ca is where I get all my competition info. I've been competing for four years now and it really is al ot of fun. Like you say, the whole family can come and make a day of it. Below you can see some pictures of my son playing with the equipment after a show.

Yes I did. Went 622 next, but was called for a hitch.

Not sure on my next meet. Maybe in september or in march. I need to add size. I won 220's at the state meet weighing in at 203.

Were those supposed to be stiff-leg deadlifts?...If not that is the poorest form deadlift I have seen, with all the components that are likely to cause injury....You're most definitely strong man, so don't think I'm busting your chops; but everything I've read and seen about proper deadlift technique says your form is bad.

Here is a good example of how I was taught to deadlift... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-O_MT72rck

1st of all the video is nice and all but his form isnt perfect either, second of all you do realize when handleing maximal wieghts your form is going to be different that if you were handling light weights or the 135lbs your instructional video has?

I do realize it's going to be harder to maintain good form while doing a heavy lift; but this guy never even tries to get his hips down on his lift, and he rounds his back as he's raising the weight. As I said, it looks to be more of a stiff-legged deadlift variation than a true deadlift.
