Saturday 6.25.04
Saturday
6.25.04 This will be a relatively short entry as most of you know how everything went, already. I weighed in last night at 189.0. You can gasp and do whatever you like but I was fine with it because I made a commitment to put the numbers aside and go strictly for conditioning. I stopped when I felt I was as tight as I wanted to be. I was 7 pounds lighter than last year, for reference. Did I diet away muscle mass to get so tight? Nope, I don't think so. Had I started to go that route, I would have backed off and held my weight. Anywho, I awoke at about 7am to take my supplements and I ate my first meal at 7:00am, again at 9:30am. Both meals were 5/8 cup oats, about 4 oz. ground turkey breast and 2 tbsp. NO SODIUM natural peanut butter. By the time my meal rolled around at noon, I was close to stage time and didn't have the vascularity that I wanted so I started adding in SOME small circus cookies - you know, the ones in the bag that are either coated in pink with sprinkles or white with sprinkles and they seemed to do the trick. I didn't want to eat many of them because my waist to delt ratio was the best it has ever been and a full blown shitload would have fucked this up a bit for me. Anyway, I dropped veins very well and very quickly and just in time to hit the stage. I was very pleased with the callouts and my presentation but was beyond exhuasted when I got off stage. The lack of water was really getting to me as it was getting difficult to keep focus, visually. It almost felt like I was a bit drunk and had to force myself to focus. Very lethargic and heavy feet. I managed to decide that in the absence of water, I was never going to get down anymore oats, peanut butter and ground turkey so I opted for a very controlled and very moderate shitload for the rest of the day. I hit the Diner for a large waffle caked in butter and syrup, hash browns, toast and some runny yolk to dip the toast in. I was pretty full so I decided to stop it there. I went back to the hotel room and slept for 4 hours. I would have slept longer but I had to get up and eat one more time and get to the theater, a block away as it was coming up on 7pm and I would be on stage by 9pm. I had the exact same diner meal (I ordered the same thing to go earlier in the day) and got ready to go back over to the theater. That's about it. I hit the stage pretty fascular and just a bit fuller than the morning. Took 3rd again and was pretty disappointed until I could put it all into perspective a day or so later. Had some good Italian at Maggiano's after the show, too. When I get some solid pics, I will get them up. In the meatime, I am taking precautions so that I don't get sick like last year and so far, I feel pretty good. I am looking forward to the offseason as I really need to put some size on. I will stay relatively lean but I am going to go balls to the wall and take a good amount of time to put on some size. If I can condition as I have proven that I can and stay balanced and symmetrical, I am going to be much harder to beat. Skip
