tomatoes

Okay, this is probably a weird question and I'm not sure this is where it should go, but here goes.

Tomatoes are considered a fruit, right, having a glucose/fructose ratio of 1 in most cases. Given this information, would they be suitable for a post carb cutoff meal? I know you'd have to eat a LOT of tomatoes to get a big insulin spike, but there's still more carbs in them than broccoli for instance.. what's the deal? are they okay post cutoff?

Thanks!

I would also like to know a reasoned opinion on this. I have traditionally stayed away post cut-off.

I would say it would fine to eat some tomatoes after a carb cutoff. They are a tad bitter highger in carbs than say broccoli or green beans, but not by much. Also, how many tomatoes are we talking about. A normal size serving is not going to make a difference imo. Again, if you are a week or two out from a show, it is a different story and you would probably want to err on the side of caution, but behidn that I wouldn; worry and overthink it
