Dream tan question

I have always used Pro tan or competition color from Jan Tana. Recently I used a coat of dream tan on top of a couple coats of competition color. I really like the color, but didn't like having to put it on backstage. I had to strip down, put it on, then put my loose shirt and shorts back on while I warm up(makes me get a pump quicker than in my trunks alone).

What is the best time to put dream tan on? Does it set in if you put it on a few hours before? Still experimenting, but sure did like the color it gave me.

dont use it./ unless its applied PERRRRRFECT you will hide all your hard work/ pro tan has a product that will work wonders

Alot of venues ban it also as it gets on everything!

True.

My first show I had a light colored suit that got totally DEMOLISHED by dream tan.......luckily I had brought a backup suit for the night show.

On the plus side you can't compete with the color if applied correctly. I normally do 4 coats of protan and then dream tan right before stage.

I wouldn't use it because of how messy it gets everything. I got a free jar of it when I was dieting for a show. I thought what the hell, I'll do a test run with it like 4 or 5 weeks out and after I did my face and upper body, I was wishing I hadn't started, but by then I decided to keep going since I had already wasted an hour. Its terrible to wash off too. Atleast with protan after it dries it really doesn't get on your clothes besides when getting out of the shower. This I showered like three times and thought I got it all off and went to bed and woke up and thought I shit the bed. It got on everything for the next week even though I was constantly showering. On the downside with protan, it takes like 2 weeks to come off with routine showering and scrubbing and when it does come off in area's, it makes you look like you have a skin disease. I can remember using turpentine to get it off my neck cause it looked terrible because I was going out.

put it on at your hotel before going to prejudging and give it about 2 hours to dry before putting on clothes & heading to prejudging. Then just a light touch up coat about an hour before stage and you are golden. Don't slop it on 45 minutes before stage though, that's where you get problems

i agree. 5-6 coat of pro tan, 1 coat of pro tans quick bronze right before the stage. that is your oil and all.

I just used the same protocol, 4 protan coats, 1 dream tan coat 1hr pre-stage time & it looked great!!! i looked really dark when I wasnt on stage, but as soon as those lights hit you,you are never dark enough... apply the dream tan PROPERLY-slapping it on- & it works/looks great i think.. but yes, I will ruin light colored suits in about 5seconds...I also had to wear my backup pair & ditch my turquise nite show trunks..
