Trying to get my workout in between work and class is pretty hectic...anyways, i had legs on the agenda today and again i had about 5o minutes from the time i got to the gym until i had to get back home.
HS CALF PRESS 3x12/20 each set consited of doing them unilaterally to failure then doing both feet together...did it this way so i can work my left calf by itself. LYING LEG CURLS 2x8 both sets were hard and heavy--form was a lil looser than usual. LEG EXTENSIONS 7x10-12 with my back being slighty compressed-feeling i wanted to front load with the FST-7 style....it did not disappoint the 2 sets felt way too easy but with 30-40 seconds between sets by the fourth set my quads were seriously hurting. awesome stuff.... FRONT BOX-SQUATS 2x8:185 never did these before and they were not as easy as i thought esp after 7 rapid-fire sets of extension LEG PRESS 540x12 630x15 again 7pl/side is very heavy but as fast as i was traininng by the time i got to leg press it felt heavy... wanted to do lunges but iw as trashed....... PWN:2 scoops MP/1 large bannana 2 hours later: 8oz chicken breast/6oz pasta defintely wanted some carbs with dinner..other than some fruit pre- and post- workout, pretty much have had no carbs other than trace for the last two days. No, i am not following a keto/palumbo diet. Thursday and friday will be pretty much low carb days. BTW my wonderful wife scheduled a spa day for her and i saturday...trust me i have absolutely NO issue going and getting a massage (no happy ending) and sitting in a sauna/steam bath ect so im pretty jacked...im sitting in class right now (my students are workign on a project) and its 9:13pm......class is over at 10pm (home by 10:30) cardio tommorrow AM, chest (upper) and tri's tommorrow night.

i like pre exhausting with extensions anyway.
its good to get the knees/ patella warmed. this way your not just jumping into super heavy mass moves cold.

Spa treatment sounds nice. Especially since it's like 5 degrees here in WI. Would be nice to just relax and get a massage.

Thats a fantastic way to spend a Saturday with the Mrs., T. Enjoy the massage (every see the Seinfeld episode where George thought "it" moved when getting the massage from a guy?) and pampering. Should be an enjoyable, relaxing time.
And damn, bro...you mustve been going at warp speed to get that work in that fast. Everything probably felt heavy, especially near the end. -slide

slide-yah much faster than i am used to training for sure....
GB-medialis is sore as shi** today.... I wont lie i was beat getting to the gym wednesday to do legs...however, i threw some carbs into the mix PWN and have kept nutrition on point all week and i felt fine yesterday. Speaking of which i had Upper Chest/Tri's on the menu so heres how it went down Swiss Ball Crunch/Leg Raises (3 supersets) weird but i had a major pump in my abs from the swiss ball.... INCLINE DB PRESS 90's x9 90's x8 Had the bench set lower than usual...the 90's felt really good,. Played it smart and stuck with it for a second set (normally id have grabbed the 100's and cranked out 6 reps in BS form) INCLINE CABLE FLYS 2x12:60 damn havent done these in ages but the stretch at the bottom and hard squeeze at the top had my pecs screaming. SMITH HIGH INCLINE 185x9+6-8 xreps 135x20+5 xreps used a normal grip for the first set and a collar-to-collar grip for the second...pecs were toast after. PUSHDOWNS 7x10-12:60 the more sets i did the more in-touch i got with my tris'....tried to "pull" the handle down. Big time pump baby! SKULLCRUSHERS 75x12 75x12 pretty light but my elbows were a lil touchy...slowed it down as much as i could. DB EXTENSIONS 25x12 25x11 went to failure on both sets and that was it.... despite having eat only minimal carbs since sunday....i had one of the best pumps ive had in a LONG time. PWN-2 scoops muscle provider/bannana/ .5 cups of mixed berries 90 minutes later- 9oz ground beef,kim chee, large salad, handful of cashews

Nice workouts yesterday and today Truce (or I guess the leg workout was Wednesday). Front box squats seem like a cool idea. I have actually never heard of those. How did you like them? They must have been tough, and 185x8 is awesome on that, especially after all those leg extensions.
I really like how you have been structuring your workouts recently, mixing in the power stuff with the pump stuff. How are you feeling with the diet and the increase cardio?

haha....Bruno Ive never heard of anybody doing front box-squats either...definitely harder than i expected but that will improve.
Actually B i feel alot better with the diet being a lil less loose and the cardio thrown in...esp the cardio. When i come home to get ready for work im already totally awake and alert and same with work. Im also tired by 10pm so i dont waste my nights watching 3 episodes of House of CSI till 11:15pm....i hit the rack and im out.

GB- you sob i knew youd catch that....actually i wanted to but its really tough to do the FST-7 for chest at my gym. Oahu doesnt have that many gyms so they are always PACKED. The cable cross-over and pec are pretty much full ALL the time and have a line...so the idea of trying to get 7 sets in doesnt really fly.
Of course if you wanted to do 7 sets of SLDL's nobody would give 2 sh**s

IB- i have no clue we have a "spa package" and its at a pretty nice hotel in waikiki so im guessing alot. Ive had deep tissue done here and gotten 60 minutes for $45 but that was just go get the massage and leave......this is more of day for me and Mrs. Trucelt to enjoy

Todays workout was an ass-kicker from start to finish. Food Intake: 1) 6 eggwhites, 2yolks/8oz chili 2) 2 scoop UMP/cashews 3) 6oz ground beef/spinach/apple 4) 2 scoops UMP/1 scoop natty PB WORKOUT 5) 3 scoops extend/20oz h20 6) 9oz grilled chicken/ .5 cup rice/kim chee Donkey Calf Raises 3x12 (new PR) WIDE GRIP CHINS 1x14 1x12 happy with 14 reps back already pumped DB PULLOVERS 2x12:85 went to balls-out failure on both sets (had a spot) HS DY ROW 235x10 235x10 form was flawless...very little swing and pulled the elbows WAY back BB CURLS 85x10 85x10 had to RP the last set.. INCLINE DB CURL 2x12:35's CYBEX PREACHER 7x10-12:50 i went thru this workout FAST probably less than 55 minutes...and was drenched. Awesome pump.Suprised by how good i felt... ![]()

Those spa packages can be pretty expensive. I usually get the chick a 1/2 day at the spa, which includes massage, manicure, pedicure, facial, and lunch for about $300 (which includes gratuity).
Shes talked about 'us' spending a day there, but Id rather she go and enjoy it and relax. -slide

Every once in a while they give massages here for finals week (to destress students). They might have something similar over where you're at.

Damn was this past weekend nice....went to bed on friday night about 10:30pm and didnt wake up on saturday morning a lil after 10!!! i cant believe i slept 11.5 hours...i never sleep that much. Had scrambled eggs/ham and we left for our trip to the spa....the whole thing was great but the 80 minute massage was awesome....some of it was incredibly painful but i felt great after. Esp my upper back/lats/traps we came home after and just laid on the couch for a few hours until it was time for dinner....Reservatins at one of our fav. places. I had the "Cowboy Ribeye" with jalapeno butter/mashed potatoes and asparagus. Damn that was good. My Bears crushed St.Louis, UH beat Idaho and all in all it was a fantastic weekend..even though i was out a good chunk of hte weekend i ate pretty well and didnt do anything drastic (other than my cheat meal saturday night)......I will be pretty much low to no carbs mon-thu other than some fruit.
My upper back was crazy sore all weekend and i will be hitting lower chest and delts tonight- BB Flat flys dips (probably no fst-7 for chest) laterals (2 sets heavy straight then my fst-7 HS Overhead press WOOOOOOO! BTW-im all for Skip taking a VERY active interest when new "experts" show up and start doling out advice....show me a previous client/show me some your progress show mw anything.
