hes not a pro, but i love olympic lifters. this guys a local hero, 2-time olympic gold medalist and numerous world record setter, he decided that "hey, i wanna do a show" one time, and he looks damn good to me. by the way these are extremely old pics, dating back to the 60s. he was once called "america's most feared weightlifter"! i know he lifts at a local YMCA here, i hope i get to meet him one day, imagine the wisdom and knowledge he could pass on!

awesome strong dude and he has converted very well to a BB IMO - has that muscle density that only heavy training accomplishes. shame there isnt more Asian/Kiwi/Hawaii famous bodybuilders, apart from Kris Dim and another guy that i cant remember now there doesnt seem to be a lot, shame as they seem to have good muscle genetics, only downfall seems to be a tendency for thick skin from what ive read about Kris Dim's prep

theres that hidetada yamagata, i think thats his name, theres eryk bui. i think that tommy never actually trained to do BBing, he was just doing his olympic lifting thing, saw that he looked pretty good one day and said, "hey i think ill do a contest". to me thats amazing, to me hes in that category of "powerlifter turned BBer". yeah hes wicked strong, overhead squatting aint easy, i got trouble just doing the bar.

thats the name - eryk bui, he one small but very dense and extremely strong mofo - i read he came from a PL background too and at around 150lb did a 500lb squat or smething wow. yep i know what you mean in that tommy just entered a BB comp on the spur of the moment - he still looked very good though and it shows that not only is heavy powerlifting a good way to build a base but Oly lifting has its place too.

just checked his avi - he looks like he has bundles of dense muscle - there should defnately be more hawaii/asian BB like i said before. very good muscle on these guys

There is another IFBB Pro in Hawaii. Clifton Torres. Cam and I knew him as an amateur. He competed as a bantam and lightweight.

Seeing asian/hawiian bodybuilders is definately an inspiration for other asians.
Tommy Kono looks good even in those "back-in-the-day" pics.

Do u guys kno of any massive (like around 250lbs) asian/hawiian bodybuilders??
