Morning Bulking Shake

what i use in the morning ot put on some lbs
12oz 2% milk
50g's whey
1cup Egg Beaters (4 egg whites)
1 cup oats
1/2 bannana

bad on the ozone however

is egg beaters safe to eat raw? what about biotin deficieny?

Yes, "Just Whites" or other pasteurized egg white concentrates are safe to eat raw. Biotin deficiency only occurs if you ingest a HUGE amount of raw egg whites on a daily basis.

Which unless you are Bill Gates (those raw egg white liquids are $$$$$) or like being sick with salmonella (since if you eat RAW regular egg whites thats what will happen) you won't likely become biotin deficient.

wait so are you saying that those egg beater things are safe to eat because you're not eating a lot of em? or are they truly safe to eat in whatever amount you wish?

You could create a biotin problem if you drink a ton of them. I have to look for the article.

thats alot of protein:
12 from milk
12 from eggs
50 from whey
about 10 from the oats

i think what eliminates the biotin deficiency is cooking the whites. by doing so, you alter the protein structure, and aviden no longer disrupts biotin absorption. i'm not sure if pasteurizing does anything to the eggs(pasteurizing involves heating right?) that would alter the structure. if it did, that would be awesome, its like having one of those little boxes of milk everyday in the morning! if not, then you gotta start eating some yolks, as those are chalk full of biotin, which counteracts the aviden.

Biotin is a vitamin, not protein based, but is very thermolabile (heat sensitive). During the pasterurization process, it will degrade. All of these pasteurized eggwhite products are safe to ingest raw.

the liquid egg whites are flash heated in a tube to "cook" but not solidify the protein in the egg whites

as ahmad said, they are safe to ingest raw and make for a damn tasty shake

but i've been told and read that its the protein aviden which prevents biotin absorption, as a result of rats being fed raw eggs white, they lost all their hair and got scaly skin. the flash heating bhman6 describes heats the protein enough to alter the protein structure of aviden as to not keep biotin from being absorbed right?

so its safe to eat right? thats so awesome hear. that would make for some awesome shakes, at Costco they come in those 6 packs of mini cartons, i could just grab a carton everyday for breakfast!

i always use this combo

1 bottle water
2 scoops ON Pro Complex
1 banana
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup liquid egg whites

i will have this twice a day after breakfast and after dinner
