Does someone's face affect his/her score?

Does someone's face affect his/her score? Does having an attractive face offer any advantage in terms of placing, and vice verca?

I'm mostly talking about bodybuilding, but it'd be interesting to hear about fitness and figure.

It shouldnt but I would find it hard to believe that with two individuals that were tied the better looking one may get the nod a majority of the time in the fitness part bodybuilding less often IMO.

In Figure, yes. Explicitly. See the judging criteria for fitness and figure at www.npcnewsonline.com and then click on "rules and regulations" and scroll down to the judging criteria.

In women's bodybuilding, yes. Explicitly. Excessively "hard" or "masculine" appearance is not to be rewarded.

In men's bodybuilding, no. Though a "marketable" appearance will get you the photo shoots and the magazine coverage, if not the trophy!

Ken,

I agree with you 100% across the board. After all the face is part of the body. My question to you is how do you feel "physique guidelines" aside, do you objectively judge a face? What appeals to you may not appeal to me. However, we may agree on the body. Any thoughts?

Did you mean "but" instead of "if?" Just making sure, because I feel the "if" sorta contradicts the first sentence.

Actually, funny enough, I was told by an honest NPC judge when asked about my placing in a show (in an area I had just moved to) that, "I just need to do more shows so the judges know my face better..." (That's pretty much a direct quote...)

there are alot of guys in this area that do show after show after show and keep slipping down and down.
