i peaked the day after what happened?

well i thought i would try competing in my first contest i screwed up not doing any research, so i got my self down to 7% body fat big mistake most of the competitors were 5 to 4% body fat so i did the carb load sodium load water load and i was holding fat or water in my lower abs so i ended not placing duhhhh any way i went with my freinds and had a chicken quesadea and two side orders of fries desert some of my girls ribs one hot wing of my buddys plate later i had two cadburys chocolate bars i took a zantac 150 before all this food the next morning sunday my lower abs was flat as a pancake veins i never new exsisted came out my quads had striations and my shoulders had striations what the hec happened can some one explain how i could this again for my second contest first i want to get down to 4% do you think thats a good start 2 weeks out

skip please help

i just wondered why skip my lower abs was holding fat or water but the day after i ate all that crap my lower abs had them 4 veins and filled in and apeared flat as a pancake im 40 just trying something knew in my life i got down to 7% but that seams like not enough in todays standards

If you were flat and you ate a ton of carbs, carbs need water so the water you were holding was pulled because it was needed to form glycogen to fill you out.

It is one of the main reasons that shitloading not only fills you out but it continues to DRY you out, as well.

skip my body fat was 7% not good but my lower abs got flat but do you think i should duplicate this 1 day earlier and get my body fat to 4%

That's my understanding, yes. I've never heard of anyone doing it and also consuming water. The sodium in the junk food should pull any interstitial water (is interstitial a word?) into the muscle, similar to the carbs. But if you add water then, I think you would only hold it where you don't want to.

thanks copa for the info when you are 2 weeks out what is your body fat at what do you recomend or any recomend my body fat should be 2 weeks out at my show they measured me at 7% I know thAT sucks but i wanta do better next time round so what do you guys have your body fat 2 weeks out

I don't measure my bf% so I really don't know. You should be fully ready to step onstage at 2 weeks out though. So whatever you're shooting for onstage (4% maybe? I don't know), that's where you should be. The final 2 weeks should be for filling out a bit and fine tuning, not for losing fat. The fat / skin on your lower back should be about the same as it is on your knuckles.

Sounds like you could have been over-dieted... Most of the time, bbers always look better the day after their show for the first several times they compete.... Youll learn your body....

I am sorry that I have missed this thread for so long.

I am with COPA on this one. You should be ready at the 2 week mark and then ride it in, so to speak. I don't do bodyfat numbers, either, because some guys look great at 6% and others don't so it is a bit relative.

The same thing happened to me when I did my first competition at age 42. I filled out great 32 hours later after the show was done. I upped my carbs starting Thursday morning. After the show I went out and consumed almost an entire large chicken club pizza and 2 beers, the next day was steak, baked potoatos, corn on the cob...i just ate like crazy all the good stuff. Monday morning I looked so damn good it wasn't funny. My bodytype is an ectomorph so I have a feeling next time I will carb up starting Wednesday and I will eat lots more than I did the other time. Family is trying to talk me into another one.

What I Would Do Is Eat The Natural P/b. Fat Load 3 Weeks Out Once Your Bf Is Around The 4-5% Mark. Shit Load Smit Load. Try Also The Night Before Good Ole Pie Fillin Hummmm Goooood

virtually 0 water on a shitload.... NONE or ice chips or a sip-NO DRINKING.. Shitloads do/can/will work for sure, just make sure you dont overdo it & spill over... I've seen guys go way overboard & eat too much b/c they think they have to... a burger/fries & snickers bar worked awesome for me....I ate, but didnt overdo it & looked good & hard for pre-judge... same thing 2hrs b4 nite show & help my condition rite thru the entire day & nite....... 0 water!!!!!

If your water is controlled as it should be ahead of time, there is no way you will spillover from too much food on the day of the show. Something in your prep the last couple days was not right.
